Comic-Con 2010 is currently under-way in San Diego and a few bloggers who are lucky enough to be there in person have trickled some neat Exorcist-related tidbits online.
First, JJ Abrams sat on a panel today and discussed his upcoming projects (including horror film Super 8) and was asked about any cool pieces of fandom he owned. CinemaBlend says JJ responded by revealing he owns the actual tongue worn by Linda Blair in The Exorcist. The piece was specially crafted by legendary make-up artist Dick Smith to fit perfectly on Linda’s tongue. A second tongue was also created for a different version of the Spiderwalk scene that has never been cut into the film (but you can see a fan-cut of the scene using deleted footage, embedded below thanks to Exorcist Fansite contributor Justin).
Second, FEARnet got a new snapshot of NECA’s highly anticipated Exorcist Possessed Regan Electronic Figurine on display. The card in front next to it confirms an October release is still likely, and the finished product will come in a specially crafted box set. When officially announced in April, it was confirmed that Regan’s head will spin and play famous lines from the film! You can pre-order the figurine here.
