Yeah, I think Chloe is probably around 13 or 14 now.   It's too bad a remake wasn't done around the time when Dakota fanning was of a more appropriate age.   She probably could've pulled off the role….given her other roles where she plays dark or mysterious.  Dakota has played brunettes before….and I don't know if she ever played a redhead.

Abigail Breslin (Zombieland) would probably have been a good one too…but she's probably a bit old to play Regan at this time.

I'm trying to think of some thirty-something actresses of late (with red hair) that might be good to pull off the role of Chris.  Don't know if I could see Charlize as a redhead.   A brunette, maybe…but I don't know about a redhead.

Hey!  Wait!   I know this chick would do a good job…and she at least WAS a redhead….Alyson Hannigan (Willow from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series). :)   She's got the acting chops for it, and she's in her thirties by now I believe.

As far as casting unknowns, you completely read my mind. 🙂

As far as Charlize Theron and Chloe Moretz, I'm thinking more of acting gravitas as opposed to good looks (at least, in Charlize's case) :)  And I think Charlize kinda shed any “sex symbol” notions with her portrayal in the movie “Monster” where she was anything BUT a sex symbol. 🙂

I think Chloe Moretz would be good as Regan because she's already shown that she can pull of the edgy roles quite well for so young an age.  (Just watch Kick Ass, and you'll see what I mean.)  🙂

Me either.   A cool collectible, but I could not see myself going to sleep with that face staring at me like that. 🙂

Well, I'm not one of those Exorcist fans who don't want to hear about this. My dream is to see the entire Exorcist Novel in a miniseries and someone who looks like my sims versions of Shirley MacLaine & Sachi to play Chris and Regan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i083XttyZP8

so, even though I adore Chalize Theron & Chloe, they wouldn't be in my list lol… sorry, Steve.

LOL….well…no list can please everyone. 🙂

My choice for Regan MacNeil would be Chloe Grace Moretz, who played HitGirl in Kick Ass.

    Father Merrin….Sir Anthony Hopkins

Father Karras….Timothy Olyphant  (Hitman, Rockstar, Live Free or Die Hard)

    Chris MacNeil…..Charlize Theron

I saw it when I was five (because I somehow managed to drag my parents to see it).   For many years, I regretted it.  LOL!

Nice…and a very freaky painting indeed!  :)  I'd call that an epic win. 🙂

I just might do that. :)  But for now, I'm deep in pre-production on my Galactica project. 🙂

I agree about the demonic induced self-mutilation.   When you look at the crucifix scene, you see how the cuts on her face were there, and how they festered into her greyish demonic look in later scenes. 🙂

Listening to it, I have to say I still prefer Linda Blair's original scream.

    Incidentally that is indeed. 🙂
