We have three Spirit stores in our area too…and I've seen the Regan statue.   It's pretty cool.  (My roomies were seriously considering buying it for me, initially as a prank….to try and scare de bejeezus outta me.)   Ha hahahaha.

Exorcist no longer really has too bad a grip on me as it once did, but I still could not wake up to that face in the morning.  😀

Although I don't consider this to be a “horror” movie (It's definitely more of a love movie with horror themes), Wojchiek Kilar's score for the Francis Ford Copolla version of Bram Stoker's Dracula is a beautiful piece of work.

Jerry Goldsmith's score for ALIEN is also a winner. 🙂

    Hi, everybody.  🙂

Fr. Bowdern, I get where you're coming from now.   I think we're both on the same page, my friend. 🙂

Hi, Sofia.  I've never worked with After Effects before….program is waaaaaayyyyy too expensive right now.   When I did Regan's tongue flicking in my spiderwalk sequence, I used a simple polygon painted dark red to flick in and out of her mouth, since I couldn't get the actual tongue to do so.  :)

Well, I don't think anyone's asking for a filmed release version of The Exorcist with no McCambridge dubs, Fr. Bowdern.   I think it's more for “behind the scenes” insight.   It would be interesting to see the scenes done without McCambridge's wonderful voice work, just to hear the lines as Linda would've said them….but certainly not for any official release.

It's like when I like to watch special effects “making of” documentaries.   I like to see the deconstruction of scenes to see how they were done.   I think that's  all that's being asked here.   🙂

In the words of Lord Vader:

    “Impressive!   Most impressive!”

Wow….that is just stunningly beautiful in its own freakish way.

Very well done, Sof.  Good sound editing to match the action.  A nice start.  🙂

    From South Park:

Teacher:  Class, we have a new student today.   What's your name again, son?

New Kid with evil grin:  Damien!

    Off screen chorus:  RECTUS DOMINUS!!!!!!

Sof, those Sims videos you're doing are REALLY turning out great.   I thought the “Captain Howdy's hurting me” scene was extremely chilling….especially with that oh so brief shot of Howdy standing where Regan said he was, but no one else could see him.   That was very well done. 🙂

Without meaning to stoke the fires between believers and atheists/agnostics, but there's a great exchange in the novelization between Chris and Fr. Dyer at the end:

Something to the effect  that Chris still maintains her atheism, despite what has happened.  When Fr. Dyer asks her how she explains the demonic actions then, Chris concedes that Dyer brings up a good point, and reasons out that God has been silent, but the devil advertises.

    🙂

I take comfort in the knowledge that  my conquering The Exorcist (took me 17 years to do it, and that was just for the original version…the TVYNS comes along, and I had to re-conquer it)  has completely diluted every other horror film made before or after it.  LOL!

Frak the young'n's who don't get it.
