It sounds great. The Exorcist is my alltime favorite horror film, and a haunted house project based on The Exorcist sounds exciting. (Or, as Pazuzu said to Fr. Karras: “Mirabile dictum, don’t you agree?”

Sadly, I don’t know if you’re going to find much in this fansite anymore. I think it’s been dead for a while. Ask I’ve ever found here over the last year, aside from your recent post, is spam.

I do invite you to check out my YouTube channel, Martok The Unbidden, and check out the animation projects I’ve done which are visual excerpts from the novel of The Exorcist. Soon as I can get my old PC fixed (or get a new one, and the animation programs I need), I plan on redoing them.

Keep up the great work with what sounds like a very spooky fun project.

LOL!  Well, consider me or call me blasphemous, but I loved pretty much everything about TVYNS.  I wanted to see it in theaters, but didn't get the chance to.

Ahh…but to see The Exorcist (either version, I care not) on the big screen one more time, just to take my revenge on it all those years ago when, as a small child who did not know what he was getting into when he dragged his parents to the drive-in, it scared the living hell out of me for 17 years. 🙂

Highly understandable, considering that part of the movie's trailer campaign was “Questions….will….be…answered!”  For many folks, it seemed to leave more questions than answers…kinda like the Matrix trilogy.

Walking Dead.  You know, I have the first season of that on DVD and still have not watched it yet.  I've heard from tons of people that it is an outstanding show.  I need to knuckle down and check it out.

Another show I've really enjoyed (and did watch the first season of) was Falling Skies. 🙂

And I hope you had a Merry Christmas too, Ratboy. 🙂

Yeah, it got a little confusing exactly how Prometheus fit into the ALIEN universe as far as whether or not it was actually a prequel, or just a story set in that universe in a time that just happened to take place before the events of ALIEN.

Like I said, when I bought the Anthology Blu-Ray set, Ridley Scott clearly said he was working on his “ALIEN prequel”.   So that was an impression that was left with pretty much anyone who bought the blu-ray, and even the impression that many folks got watching the promotional  material leading up to Prometheus' release.   It really wasn't until shortly after Prometheus was released to theaters that Ridley and company started saying that “while Prometheus sure shares ALIEN's DNA, and takes place in the same universe, it is not a prequel.”

If there is one thing this movie succeeded at doing, it was splitting the ALIEN fanbase right down the middle.  I loved Prometheus, and eagerly await any sequel(s) for it.  🙂

I still buy it as a prequel of sorts for the same reasons you stated.   The engineers, for one thing.  Plus, the overgrown facehugger and the chestburster that looked like a pre-evolutionary xenomorph.

Now, here's a question:  Did you note, when the movie ended, the way that the doctor recorded her “final log of the Prometheus”?    It sounded an awful lot like Ripley's “Last survivor of the Nostromo” recording in the original ALIEN.

Because for a long time, even during its production, it was being heralded as a prequel.  In the ALIEN Anthology Blu-Ray, Ridley Scott was still calling the project the ALIEN prequel.

I didn't even know until recently that it was being denied as a prequel.

So, it just happens to have the DNA of Alien, takes place in the same universe before the events of ALIEN, but it deals with somewhat different creatures.   This, I do like, because it's almost Lovecraftian.   The ALIEN universe is big enough to play around in and have new adventures/terrors.   It's an ALIEN universe story, but not a true prequel.

No need to get irked over a minor detail.  🙂

    Hi, Jagged.

Yeah, this film probably divivded the ALIEN fanbase somewhat.

The music…I rather liked it at the beginning, because the movie was supposed to be suggestive of “exploration”…and it even made me think of StarGate.   I also liked how they employed a passage from Jerry Goldsmith's original ALIEN score during one particular scene…that jumped out at me. 🙂

Ach.  Indeed, I cannot believe I forgot that he played in Exorcist III.  I always remember him for Merlin in Excalibur…but yes, he was Fr. Morning.

    Rest In Peace, sir.

I never thought of an Exorcist stunt…but…

I do remember, shortly after the film ALIEN was released in 1979, there was a tee shirt made that had a foam-rubber chestburster, painted to look as if it were coming out of the wearer's chest.

OMG, what a GREAT classroom prank that would've made.   Sit there with my denim jacket on, start gradually twitching and convulsing and raising all manner of hell…get the class and the teacher worried..and then, just when I have every one gathered round me, rip my jacket open for the great reveal!  There likely would've been an increase in urine and fecal smell from all around the classroom, whilst I'd lay there laughing….just prior to probably being pummeled to near death by the terrified students and teacher.

What a daydream that was.  I never did get the shirt, but I certainly fantasized the scenario over and over.  🙂
