ParticipantWell, here she is, pretty much completed….a Colonial Battlestar…namely, the Galactica. I was able to make nameplates for Galactica, Pegasus, Atlantia, Rycon, Columbia, and Solaria.
I think she turned out rather nicely. My first model I've ever built with an advanced modeling app….Blender.  Â
This was a fun model to build….and quite a tough one for my first, as battlestars and star destroyers are among the most greebled physical models out there.   For reference, I used my 2 inch Konami Galactica and Pegasus miniatures, as well as online photo references.
This version will appear in an animation soon.
I hope you'll like this 🙂

ParticipantIt's going to be part of it, yes.  Now that I have this more accurized ship built, and know a few more things about the app I used to build it, I'm going to try and build some other models before I get back into the animation.  All the ships I'd built before using iClone looked decent, but were very flat.  Now I can do physical details, and make them look more lifelike. 🙂

ParticipantYeah, it's a pretty detailed starship. 🙂

ParticipantI think Pazuzu did it just for the hell of it.
(er….pun intended) 😀

ParticipantAnother possibility could be because of Regan's disposition in the story.
Â
Her mom is an actress, and although she tries to give Rags as much attention as she can, she does have a successful and very busy movie career that often takes her away from Regan. Also consider the divorce of her parents, and her feelings in the matter. Feelings of neglect, guilt, self-persecution….things that could leave her psyche, and perhaps her spirit vulnerable to invasion.
Â
One person had done a review of The Exorcist, stating that it was an allegory for child abuse/neglect.
Certainly, her fooling around with the Ouija board was a catalyst that further advanced the onset of possession, in concert with the feelings I described above.Â
Again….just another possibility. 🙂

ParticipantHappy Exor-versary everyone! 🙂

ParticipantMerry Christmas, everyone! 🙂

ParticipantOh, hi my friends 🙂
Sorry if I worried anyone. I'm still here…alive and well.  Not really gone for the holidays. Been doing some actual 3D CG modeling. (Building the original Colonial Battlestar from the 1978 Battlestar Galactica TV series). And it's coming along really nice! My first model built using a full quality 3D model maker (Blender….a free app that is really quite powerful!) Perhaps in the off-topic section, I'll post some pics of the work in progress. 🙂

 Merry Christmas, my friends! 🙂

ParticipantAbsolutely!!! When I got a little older after my first viewing of The Exorcist , I developed a crush on Linda Blair.

ParticipantIn Exorcist III, the words “goddamn”, “son of a bitch”, and “asshole” are infrequently used.  Don't recall a single F-woid in it.
In fact, I don't think they used the F-woid in any of the films after The Exorcist.
In EII:TH, Sharon says : “Stupid bitch.” But that's about it.

ParticipantYeah, I could've sworn it was a statue of the Joker that I saw in that movie.

ParticipantAye, the second movie was considerably different from the first….a sci-fi actioner, whereas the first was sheer horror. But, ALIENS did an incredible job of maintaining the continuity and intensity of the first film.
Â
It was also interesting to note the difference in hardware (firepower) between the two movies.
In ALIEN, the crew carried laser pistols and flamethrowers.  In ALIENS, the Marines carried projectile pulse rifles that fired 10mm explosive tipped shells. (The novel of ALIENS says they are “phased plasma pulse rifles”, which makes me think of the plasma rifles from the first two Terminator movies.)
Of course, I think it's safe to say that the laser pistols in ALIEN (of which we only saw one, Kane brandished it when he was investigating the egg chamber) was not a “blaster” type laser, but a scoring/burning laser that would require some dwell time to actually do damage to a target.
They went from lasers to automatic rifles. 🙂
