Witch of Endor
ParticipantMaybe they can shoot a new take of Chris taking another cig. If its a close-up of the box with just hands it would be easy to do. Do you think its necessary though? I mean you don’t think that the audience could assume it was implied?
Witch of Endor
ParticipantWhy does everyone think that CGI blood looks unreal?
Witch of Endor
ParticipantAccording to the wikipedia article on the Exorcist some fans believe that Chris did take a second cigarette off screen.
Witch of Endor
ParticipantYeah probably did everything they could to give ppl the don’t look at me message.

ParticipantYou have respect for Billy Graham? Why?
Witch of Endor
ParticipantI saw someone post in some comment about the power frame being visible in this film. Does anyone have a shot of that? If so can you post it here, or is it already posted under a different name.
Also they mentioned something about the reappearing cigarette in the Chris-Karras scene. If its the scene I am thinking of did Chris not just light a second one up? Any idea what the script said about it??

ParticipantThe statement that there is evil in the very celluloid itself is reminiscent of the idea of the film bringing bad luck don’t you think?
Witch of Endor
ParticipantActually this brings up something funny. Has anyone seen the remake of the Wicker Man? I mean you have to admit the end was pretty disturbing, yet something about the movie made it seem laughable. I mean I’m really not sure what it was but compared to the Exorcist the new Wicker Man was little more than a sick joke. Does anyone have any idea what is was that the Wicker Man director did so terribly wrong that the Exorcist director didn’t, or was it just a stupid concept?

ParticipantPersonally I wouldn’t say that 14 is passed the age where this movie can scare you. I didn’t see the film until I was 15 and I was quite scared of it. I was also a very mature person for my age. I think its an individual thing that one cannot predict, especially via an online forum.

ParticipantLucifer and the sky of diamonds might be more apropos.

ParticipantIf Larson is full of shit how do you even begin to classify Fred Phelps?
Interesting article Ben. I guess the gist of it is that the death of a person is part of God’s will and trying to communicate with a person that is dead is an attempt to undermind the will of God that that person not be available to answer anymore.
Still, for me its a question of observation. If you were to experience EVP yourself would you be willing to reject your own senses? Again I do not believe in, and have never experienced EVP.

ParticipantBowdern, now you’ve peek my curiosity. I’ve examined both of those clicks in detail off-line in slow motion. Although I cannot make any judgement, especially given the poor resolution of the clips, clearly a view of the girl coming down stairs existed in the original shot and I believe there was more than enough to work with to create the “open mouth” graphically. I cannot say anything for certain, I don’t know whether they’d had done it via 3D modelling or composite. In either event unless someone can prove otherwise I’m going to lean toward the fatha’s opinion on this one. Thanks

ParticipantHi Ben, although I don’t believe in electronic voice phenomena either, I find your reasoning to be a bit bizarre. You say you don’t believe it in because it wasn’t in the bible, but if I’m not very mistaken tape recorders didn’t exist when the bible was written. Wouldn’t that be like saying you don’t believe in cars because there were no cars in the bible?
