For once I have to agree with Colombia. The masturbation scene is the scene that made the movie. Although vomiting in movies is a bit of a taboo, other movies have been made since that show this. How many films have you seen though where a child is shown masturbating? Not very many. In fact I am surprised that there is no push to ban the film based on the fact it could be conscrewed as child pornography: My guess, good luck. The same crowd that would be the most verbial against child pornography also happen to like the film: Religious catholics. I certainly hope the remake includes this scene, although I wouldn’t fall out of my chair if they “forgot” that one. Just my opinion.
Pazuzu is a real historical diety. There are images of it all over the internet and statues are in museums around the world. Contact the curator of your local museum. They may have one for you to look at.
Is this an authentic warner brothers animation? If not, the style is dead on. I suppose it could be authentic. Afterall isn’t it Warner that own The Exorcist?
I might have been a hoax *by the priests* not the kid. As for money from the movie, Hunkler should had sued!
Does anyone know if Linda Blair actually shaved her eyebrows for the part? Also, did anyone notice that Karras does NOT loose his eyebrows when possesed. I check this myself in this very site’s image gallery.
I didn’t notice Regan’s missing eye brows either. Did they disappear during the hypnosis in the original too? Are you saying they are missing from that scene onwards?
Sure we can. Maybe it started as a hoax. Maybe it started as a nervous breakdown. Then the priests convinced him he was really possessed. I really think the priests are to blame here not the boy.
I don’t think Ronald neccessarily was pranking. I’m not saying he was possessed, but I think something happened to him, like a nervous breakdown. I can’t think of any other reason he would keep silent. Obviously he doesn’t want to talk about it and saying it was a hoax seems like a good way to make people go away. It seems to me more likely that something he found disturbing did happen and it scared him. That’s why he’d rather not think about it.
