Witch of Endor
ParticipantDoes anyone have a blueprint of the house?
Witch of Endor
ParticipantInteresting. Its called a “wall crucifix” so I don’t think its the one from the masturbation scene. It would had been nice if they’d posted a still showing where it was used in the film!

ParticipantI noted the copyright issue because you mentioned the two competing film studios, and yes, copyrights are an issue when it comes to voice recordings in movies. Naturally this would not be a problem if both films were held by the same intellectual property owner.
Now that point aside, there is another more pragmatic reason why it seems unlikely that the two films used the exact same recording. That is that the original sound byte would have to obtained to be inserted into Amityville Horror. This is important because even with today considerably more advanced sound technology it would be difficult to isolate the voice from the other sounds on the audio track and other audio artifacts would appear in the other film.
I guess this is an example of a truly subliminal message in the Exorcist (I will called the Howdy face liminal rather than subliminal for sake of argument) but this voice I clearly did not register consciously.

ParticipantThe phrase “I’m going to get you” is hardly copywritten. It would only be a problem if the exact recording was used from the Exorcist. Do you know as a fact that it is? How do you know?
Also where does this appear in the Exorcist?

ParticipantI wonder what all these references are to mental disorders causing unusual strength. Does anyone know of a confirmed real life case where a mental disorder caused a child to have extreme strength?

ParticipantFor once I have to agree with Colombia. The masturbation scene is the scene that made the movie. Although vomiting in movies is a bit of a taboo, other movies have been made since that show this. How many films have you seen though where a child is shown masturbating? Not very many. In fact I am surprised that there is no push to ban the film based on the fact it could be conscrewed as child pornography: My guess, good luck. The same crowd that would be the most verbial against child pornography also happen to like the film: Religious catholics. I certainly hope the remake includes this scene, although I wouldn’t fall out of my chair if they “forgot” that one. Just my opinion.

ParticipantWhat is Helmer?

ParticipantPazuzu is a real historical diety. There are images of it all over the internet and statues are in museums around the world. Contact the curator of your local museum. They may have one for you to look at.
Witch of Endor
ParticipantNo wonder the movie is so disturbing! We are watching footage of ppl actually being hurt!
Witch of Endor
ParticipantIs this an authentic warner brothers animation? If not, the style is dead on. I suppose it could be authentic. Afterall isn’t it Warner that own The Exorcist?
Witch of Endor
ParticipantI might have been a hoax *by the priests* not the kid. As for money from the movie, Hunkler should had sued!
Witch of Endor
ParticipantDoes anyone know if Linda Blair actually shaved her eyebrows for the part? Also, did anyone notice that Karras does NOT loose his eyebrows when possesed. I check this myself in this very site’s image gallery.
Witch of Endor
ParticipantI didn’t notice Regan’s missing eye brows either. Did they disappear during the hypnosis in the original too? Are you saying they are missing from that scene onwards?
Witch of Endor
ParticipantMaybe we can come up with a comprimize. Can he re-use threads somehow?
Witch of Endor
ParticipantI thought she was 14yo
