William Peter Blatty was live in studio and William Friedkin called in to a recent episode of The World Over hosted by Raymond Arroya. Together they discussed the 40th Anniversary of The Exorcist, touching on many topics including their relationship over the years, how the film remains relevant, the Extended Director’s Cut, revisiting the Georgetown locations, Friedkin’s memoirs, and more.
Interesting to note that both confirmed a brand new restored print of the The Exorcist which had been prepared for Halloween screenings this year, and both claim it to be the most pristine they have ever seen it. Blatty reaffirms Friedkin’s statement that scenes look exactly how they appeared when he was looking through the camera on set. Quite an exciting statement.
