Have to say that one makes the most sense. She kept it for protective purposes and the demon let her keep it for immoral ones. I know it may sound obvious but have you noticed her face during the masturbation scene? Yes, she looks like she is in a lot of pain but she also looks at the cross as if she is horrified. Do you know what I mean. She had it to protect her but the demon is making a mockery of that protection and she is mortally ashamed at what she is doing. And not just for obvious reasons. Its like she realizes she cant help herself at all no matter what she does. I am now thinking that maybe the demon nudged her into getting the cross to make her feel safe so he could do this to her later and sink deeper into her.

I always thought of Legion being one being made up of the strength of many. An evil person dies and his soul joins on with Legion. So whilst there are many they embody one spirit.
I always thought it was Regan in possessed state so to speak. It always appeared to me to be a ‘hey look at me, I can get out of bed and walk around and I did kill Burke Dennings , so there’! Just the proof that she did it. Well the demon anyways! You know what I mean!
I disagree. I think even though the demon was invited into Karras he couldnt enter with the medallion there. Just my opinion!! I always thought that is why he tore it off.
Is that the one with the boy? If so, I thought it was absolutely crap! It seemed to be just a rip off of the Exorcist even though it was supposed to be the events of before. The true story! Dont bother in my opinion.
Mmm I always interpreted that as ‘howdy’ being a way of saying yes or hello. Maybe Americanised because of the Indians saying ‘how’ being a question. So Chris looks like she understands…’Oh Captain HOWdy’? There is emphasis on the how. Maybe!!! I never thought of the Howard connection cos I never knew that was her fathers name! I must have missed that somewhere. Next time I watch the film I am sure it will be glaringly obvious and I will feel like ‘how did I not notice before!!!’

I have always gone along with the idea of the demon not being able to leave the body it has possessed ‘just like that!’ I have always thought it could only leave when the body dies which is why they spend all their time trying to get the body to kill itself or just through neglect so to speak..starvation etc etc. So when Karrs invites the demon into him, thereby saving Regan, I think he knew that Karras would kill himself so took the easy way out cos he knew they wouldnt let Regan die and his soul would be an easier one to aquire. Dont forget, most of the film, Karras is battling with his faith and I think that was what it was about. Not the soul of a 12 year old girl but the soul of a fallen priest. Much better for the notches on his bed post dont you think! Maybe not explaining myself very well. Most possesion cases are involving young girls, possibly cos they are easier to possess. But I do think the ultimate goal was Karras. Over to you before I start babbling!
