UK’s DVD & Blu-ray Review magazine got the scoop from Exorcist director William Friedkin that he is scheduled to begin working on a special edition Blu-ray release of The Exorcist on 2 December this year.
Unfortunately, the disc will not be released until ‘sometime’ in Fall (September – November) 2009. So it’s a painful, painful wait, but hopefully Friedkin makes it worth our while.
On 1 December, his Blu-ray special edition of The French Connection hits shelves, and DVDReview believes it is one delicious package for fans of the film. We sincerely hope Mr. Friedkin goes into the vault and pulls out similar goods for the Exorcist release.
No special features have been confirmed as yet, nor is there any word on which version of the film will be used. Seeing as he starts work on it in just over a month, hopefully some details will start to trickle down the line. As always, you’ll read about details here on The Exorcist Fansite.
