Say NO to any Exorcist remake!

This is basically what I’ve been saying all along, chief. If the project is handled with inteligence, with a true vision of the novel, it HAS a snowball’s chance in hell of being a good movie. Just got word and confirmation that a Child’s Play remake is in pre-production, slated for release in 2009. Hard to believe but the original is 20 yrs old (new ann. edition is out). Is a remake surprising? No. Just watched the original 2 nights ago with my son and he liked it. I didn’t scare him but he jumped a few times. I would welcome a remake of any classic as long as it delivers, and The Exorcist is no different.

Got a question for ya:
While the remake topic will be haunting all of us for a while, if you had a choice or say in the direction of a remake, would the story be taken place in the 70′s or present day? I think it should be taken place in present day, simply because religion as a whole has been put on the shelf in many people’s lives all around the world, simply due to lack of faith, and father Karras’ character would be even more relevant now. I think he is the reason the book and film are so effective, and whoever is chosen to portray him better do his homework.

Diffently no to a remake it would shit ( like all horror films today ) you don’t fuck around with a timeless classic, you could not get the same actors and it would be done with computor graphics which is shit compared to models and make up! Long live the best ever film and book made!!!
