Some interesting news for Exorcist fans, Time Warner’s Warner Brothers distribution studio is going to be the first to make their films legally available for download using the BitTorrent peer-to-peer network. The deal is already close to launch in Germany, with the States, UK and Australia not far behind.
Along with high-quality films, TV shows will also be made available for download at the click of a button. Again¦ legally. And better quality than what you’re already used to downloading – you nasty criminal.
Whole films will be slightly cheaper than the price of a regular DVD, while TV shows will be even cheaper as they are a smaller file size.
Now over 30 years old, The Exorcist still stands as the highest grossing horror film of all time, and is a gem in Warner Brothers’ distribution catalogue. It wouldn’t be at all unreasonable to suggest The Exorcist could be among some of the first feature films made available to legally download on the internet in the near future.
One has to wonder if special features will also be made available online? I know of a large audience who would jump at the chance to download The Fear of God documentary which featured on the 25th Anniversary DVD.
