ParticipantI prefer the unpublished novel for Dominion, but The Beginning is also quite a good read – and a lot better than the actual film.

ParticipantI can’t work out the house at all, it has always confused me. The inside seems completely different to what we see on the outside.
Justin
ParticipantIt’s just stock audio for background noises, etc. It’s the same as those God-awful female screams, children laughing, and baby cries that are used in most films.
Justin
ParticipantNope. Although if I could actually afford a HD TV and Blu-ray player, I would.

ParticipantRob Zombie.

Participant– “Bedridden Regan” (Exorcist) will be out sometime in the future (’09) which will vibrate and hopefully have full head rotation. Pea soup will be a detachable accessory. Randy said it will look just like the film minus the priests.

ParticipantYep, it’s authentic. It’s part of the “After Dark” series, which featured other cartoons like “Night of the Living Duck” (which was terribly disappointing having nothing to do with NOTLD or zombies at all).
Justin
ParticipantI would if I had the spare change!

ParticipantI think the fact that today’s audience sees the levitation wires, and laughed at the screen throughout the film, speaks volumes about how sophisticated and insensatized people have become.
It’s pretty sad – to me anyway.
It’s an obvious effect. Simple. Nothing to do with “today’s audience” or laughing at the film.

ParticipantI don’t believe it was a hoax, but I don’t believe it was a genuine case of possession.

ParticipantI’ve been wanting to see Beyond The Door again for years. I saw it not long after I first saw The Exorcist and would rent anything that seemed similar. I can’t find it anywhere nowadays!!
As for other rip-offs, The Antichrist is rather good.

ParticipantWhat type of poster was it? There are quite a few variations and some go at the higher price than others.
I got my Australian poster on eBay for $3, albeit rather damaged in the top left corner. Nevertheless a great price for an original!!

ParticipantWhile it was all amazing work by Dick Smith, I do think they went just a little too over-the-top with the cuts on her face. It would work over the longer time span in the novel, but for the film it all appeared and went away too fast. They just could have made it a little more realistic. Linda looked too chubby, instead of really thin and sick like Regan was supposed to be.
If they do a remake, I hope they make Regan look really thin and skeletal, with some bruises and a few cuts. Something close to what Annlease Michel looked like.
