ParticipantI recall seeing black and whites of that door creaked open. That image probably would have been more compelling in the 70s and not-yet as cliché as it is now. Thankfully they settled on “Merrin arrives.”
You mean this?

The ’74 rip-off Beyond The Door used a very similar image:

The ads I saw on eBay were identical to the colour poster, though, with the dodgy typeface and all. I think there was also one with priests in it. I assumed they were made specifically for CBS and would have bought them if I knew they were actually the original poster designs.

ParticipantI can imagine audiences getting an even bigger shock had they actually gone with that second poster, which makes it looks like a light family film. It goes perfect with this:
I believe the first one was used for the premiere broadcast on CBS. There were a couple of ad clippings floating around on eBay a few months back which had that and another similar looking design on them.

ParticipantI’d probably give it another month or two before we get any major updates since it’s not due out until around October and I suspect they'll want to tie in most of the promotion with Halloween. I hope they change the artwork up a bit this time, though. Even if it’s just a special slip cover, there are so many striking images in the film that they could use.

ParticipantFriedkin has been saying this for over a decade now, although I'm still not sure if I believe he really asked a 12 year old girl if she “jerked off” or that Linda knew what it meant.

TRIVIA TIME: Did you know that it was not Friedkin's nor Blatty's idea of Karras throwing himself out the window like he did in the movie? It was Jason Miller's idea! The “Bills” wanted Jason to slowly walk towards the window, say a little cheesy prayer, take a deep breath and then jump. Jason went to talk with “Bills” and said: “Guys, this is insane. If I'm possessed by a killer demon, the last thing that I want is to take things easy. There's not time to lose! Let me jump the hell out of the window!”
Friedkin and Blatty agreed, that was the better option!

That entire scene would have been very different if it were not for Jason Miller's input. I believe it was all originally going to happen off-screen, like it does in the novel, but Jason ever-so-eloquently suggested otherwise:
“One day I went in and I said 'Let me hit her [Linda Blair], just punch the shit out of her.'”

ParticipantRupert Degas. He's also doing the demonic voices in the new Evil Dead remake.

ParticipantVery cool! I got a Pazuzu pendant and one of the Pazuzu head amulets (similar to what Merrin finds in Iraq) from The Black Broom, their products are always top quality.

ParticipantCan we please refrain from bumping really old threads as it floods the forum and makes it difficult to find current discussions. Thank you

ParticipantI don't think anything official has ever been released, but sometimes custom-made cards turn up on eBay.

ParticipantSeen parts of it. Hilarious and disgusting. They've also done porn parodies of Evil Dead and Re-Animator titled Evil Head and Re-Penetrator.

ParticipantIt’s not quite a bed, but Regan’s genuine screen-used tongue is up for auction:

Unfortunately my pen wasn't suited to that photo paper and bits are flaking off, same with my Blatty autographs 🙁 .

ParticipantHmm, I don't think it is Blatty even though it does look like him when he smiles, but there's something off when he gets closer to the camera and his hair is also different.

It must have been a very surreal experience for little Linda sitting on the bed watching those dudes stumble about. I love that footage!

ParticipantWell the capture is directly from the DVD, and YouTube has compressed the video I uploaded.
You know, it would be a cool community project if we could compile all the dates and events that happened and create some sort of official production timeline!
