1 & 2: We know Burke is an alcoholic. He might be a sex addict too. Addicts do not make these sort of cost/benefit analysis when they are in their disease.
3-5: Many times ppl are not aware when sexual molestation happens. Its a very private thing. Ppl will often turn a blind-eye to it either intentionally or unintentionally simply because its so socially proscribed no one wants to deal with it. Also Regan was very sick and in a desperate situation Sharon may not had done the responsible thing.
Whether or not BD molested Regan is certainly open to interpretation. Its one of the coolest new theories I have heard about the movie. I will agree though, the movie does not go out of its way to explore this possibility.
I think the producers just built a set for the inside and used a real house for the exterior shots with little concern about whether or not they fit.

No, I’m not kidding. I have never heard of a real life case of a medical disorder giving a child extreme strength. I know the example given in the movie of the mother lifting the car, but in real life this is not something that could be sustained for a long period of time.

Maybe the bishop or Merrin’s religious order had a contract to use that cab company based on a annual fee arrangement, or carried a tab. Maybe the cabbie was paid by the pope, or maybe he was Jesus.
Interesting. Its called a “wall crucifix” so I don’t think its the one from the masturbation scene. It would had been nice if they’d posted a still showing where it was used in the film!
I noted the copyright issue because you mentioned the two competing film studios, and yes, copyrights are an issue when it comes to voice recordings in movies. Naturally this would not be a problem if both films were held by the same intellectual property owner.
Now that point aside, there is another more pragmatic reason why it seems unlikely that the two films used the exact same recording. That is that the original sound byte would have to obtained to be inserted into Amityville Horror. This is important because even with today considerably more advanced sound technology it would be difficult to isolate the voice from the other sounds on the audio track and other audio artifacts would appear in the other film.
I guess this is an example of a truly subliminal message in the Exorcist (I will called the Howdy face liminal rather than subliminal for sake of argument) but this voice I clearly did not register consciously.
The phrase “I’m going to get you” is hardly copywritten. It would only be a problem if the exact recording was used from the Exorcist. Do you know as a fact that it is? How do you know?
Also where does this appear in the Exorcist?
