Far too kind, Father. Thanks for the vote of confidence! This video wasn't supposed to boast any of my personal skills, I just wanted to share the fantastic footage with Exorcist fans in a way that hadn't been seen before. I'm glad it has been well-received.
Thanks bursyl. Yes it did take a few hours to put it all together, but I enjoyed every minute of it. Placing those lines from the film on the soundtrack added an eerie quality, I thought. It was painstaking, but it works! Thanks again.
That's true, Ryan. There are still some rare make-up test prints and daily reels that appear on eBay from time-to-time. Next time that happens, we really should all chip-in and secure it.
I still need to screen and digitize the 8mm digest reel I have. That is going to be fascinating!
After that blu-ray release last year, we've seen just about everything there is left to see. Quite honestly, there's not a great deal left we haven't already uncovered, so I'd expect mostly the standard stock.
However, I'll ask what they have planned in way of imagery and hopefully something like that will be part of our sneak preview.
I'm in touch with the publisher and captainhowdy.com will be giving this a big push after Halloween. The book looks amazing! I can't wait to get a copy on my bookshelf.
We'll have some exclusives here (images and excerpts) and, in all-likelihood, a giveaway or two.

Yes, Father, I believe that is the same artist. In the forum I link to, he writes that he will be changing out the eyes in his final piece, as the eyes he used at the time were only temporary.
Speaking of behind the scenes insight, I wish there was a more 'static' release of Owen Riozman's home footage from the set of The Exorcist. It is great seeing all that amazing on the Blu-ray, but I'd also like to just watch it by itself without it being wrapped up in those (kinda cheesy) documentaries.
Hmmm… might be time to put my video editing software to good use!
