Looks to be a different take (look at the writing on the side of the reels) however this is equally as rare!!!! Plus this looks to be an earlier version from July of 73 as opposed to the other one which was September of 73. Cutting it close there eh?

Great find! This is a complete contrast to Linda’s story that she didn’t know what she was doing during the masturbation sequence. Friedkin tends to exaggerate things so it’s hard to believe what really happened. Also note that he says there were no opticals in The Exorcist which there clearly are “vomit sequence”. I think he may be referring to CGI so I’ll let it slide on this one.

Wow!!I’ve seen this movie a bagillion times and never notice that Reagan’s eyebrows were missing. Since we are all hardcore fans we can make little nitpicks but I have never heard this coming up anywhere. I do think Friedkin was right about going for that particular. I remember seeing this in the theater when it was re-released and the audience going “ewww” when they saw Reagan tied to the bed as Father Karras enters the room to talk to her. In instances like this you have to suspend disbelief I think. I’ll go back and reference a previous post where I pointed out that people accept that she spins her head and levitates yet will flat out refute something else in the film. I think all bets are off as to what Reagan does or how she looks when she is fully possessed. And we also have to take into account that we aren’t really sure how much time has passed between Karras dying and the Macneils moving. Also you must take into account that Reagan’s scratches may be permanent scars whereas the gangrenous (sp?) element to them may have been treated. That I’m not sure of as I’m no doctor. But I don’t think her make-up was over the top. Some of the other make-up tests were pretty over the top because you could barely see Linda Blair, but all in all I think it represents a very ghastly malnourished girl who has been through hell. Pun Intended!!!

While I support and respect her cause. I just can’t see anyone coughing up 2 g’s for a top that she wore in an interview. She could really make a pretty penny for her organization signing dvds and posters. I know I’d buy one.

Sorry I don’t see them. If I remember correctly they went through a painstaking process to hand paint and remove every wire image.

It was either Blatty or Friedkin saying something to the effect that it broke the pace and explained too much. I have a totally different view on it and think there is probably no better way to describe such atrocities in this world.

Finally something for us!!! They have Jason,Freddy,Michael Myers,Pumpkinhead,etc but they never show love to the true horror classic The Exorcist!!! It looks insanely cool my guess is it will be a bit pricey but well worth it.

WOW!!!! This is an extended version of the Pea Soup scene. You can tell by the frames leading to the vomitting and the extra shots of Regan. If someone wins this they must share!!!!!

It’s an advanced reading copy that they give to critics. Much like a screener would be to movies. Nothing really different about it. I’m sure it’s rare that’s why it’s so much.
