ParticipantRegarding The Exorcist: Studies In The Horror Film…
Â
I don't mean to sound like a pessimist but are we going to get the same stuff from this book that we've gotten from other books about the making of The Exorcist. Â Do you know of possibly any new never before seen pictures are going to be in the book or will we get the same standard crop of pics. Â Normally I wouldn't be this rough but, the book is listed at $35 on Amazon, which I'm more than happy to pay, if it offers something new.

ParticipantFrom what I remember from the book the demon makes her slap herself.

ParticipantCap have you heard about the book possibly having any never before seen pics or we gonna get the standard crop of behind the scenes pics that everyone has seen before?

ParticipantCan anyone enlighten us on some of the changes that were made?

ParticipantTOO EXPENSIVE!!! Â From what I can tell more than half of these pics are stuff that is readily available on the internet. Â Now if they were like personal polaroids (which I believe were industry standard back then) for continuity or screen tests than I'd break the bank.

ParticipantTo followup I too did notice that the two Pazuzu flashes in Regan’s room were missing..THANK GOD. That truly was overkill.
I did feel that the feature at the end was kind of a gyp as it was clearly a truncated version of what is on the bluray. The editing of each different segment was all over the place and the actual title of the feature was called To Hell And Back whereas what is featured on the bluray is supposedly titled Raising Hell.
The movie’s overall look was amazing. I forgot that I was watching a 40 year old movie instead of a newly filmed period piece about the early 70s. This is gonna be killer on my 61 inch tv because it looked amazing on the big screen.
The behind the scenes footage was interesting as Bowdern pointed out that clearly Linda was used for pretty much every scene aside from the vomiting. I was really hoping too see some Howdy footage and aside from a brief flash we got nothing.
As stated before, I don’t think this is the entire piece that is on the bluray but instead a mere “best of” compilation.
P.S. The brief shot of Linda in demonic makeup looking at her dummy in demonic makeup was priceless.

ParticipantI remember reading a long time ago that Freidkin didn’t want this footage released because it would take away the mystique of the film. I can see his concern because it shows Linda Blair acting like a normal 12 year old in hideous demonic makeup. That being said I am even more psyched for this!!!

ParticipantChicago is my city. I remember when this happened and I really wanted to go.

ParticipantJustin I don’t think those were cut from the 25th Anniversary Edition. I know they were cut from TVYNS but the 25th Anniversary Edition was the first version I saw and I distinctly remember seeing them in there. Also, I may be alone on this one but I’m a fan of the blue-tint in the 25th Anniversary Edition. I can almost feel the coldness during the exorcism.

ParticipantI’m sorry everyone, I totally forgot I had posted this. Let me dig out ye old screenplay and post a few pages of different stuff for ya. Hopefully soon.
