ParticipantIf you look towards the end of the video on the right side of Kermode’s face you can see flashes from the original unreleased trailer. Very hard to spot but it’s there.

ParticipantWell it shows Linda at relatively the same age as a very happy child which is in huge contrast to how she is halfway through the film. My ultimate dream would be to use the screen test on the Fear Of God documentary that features Linda and Ellen and insert it into the scene where Karras is listening to Reagan in the soundlab. It’s hard to describe how it would be used unless you watch both scenes back to back.

ParticipantThe Exorcist saga the greatest of all time? Um with the first one aside did anyone see the mediocre sequels? The Exorcist II is not only one of the worst sequels of all time but would probably rank in the top 20 worst movies of all time. The Exorcist III had its redeeming quality but it’s not really a sequel than more of a spinoff. Both versions of the Exorcist IV were just eh. Schrader’s version was slightly better than Harlin’s version but still would not adequately round out the best horror saga of all time. So what we have is a near perfect original and a pretty decent spinoff. That’s hardly a saga. It’s too early to call Saw the greatest horror saga ever with yet another sequel due out next year but I must say I am impressed so far. My vote for right now would be The Evil Dead films.

ParticipantIf I had the time and equipment I would definetely re-edit this back into the movie. While it is a quick scene the picture quality is good enough to show with a nice soundtrack in the background. I would consider using the one that is on youtube, I think it fits perfectly. My only modification would be to slow the frames down a little bit to give it more of a dreamlike quality about it. It would be interesting to see one of the few scenes in the movie where the characters are truly at ease and seem to have no problems whatsoever.

ParticipantOk am I getting a little weird to say that if I had the technology and time I would want to insert this into the film? It would look good towards the middle or end of the film as either Chris is remembering or when is Karras is in the soundlab. Of course a few things would need to be cut out of it and I would put some music over the soundtrack but I think it might actually work.

ParticipantForgot to login for that. Yeah I dunno, what do you make of it. It kinda looks like Eileen Dietz. Not sure though.

ParticipantThis is actually from the Exorcist II teaser trailer. I know this is 100% real.

ParticipantCool concept. I can see where the Bram Stoker’s Dracula influence came in. Sadly I think what Eileen Dietz was wearing during her Captain Howdy scene would be less than thrilling. Prolly a black smock or something.
GhettoExorcist
ParticipantMy guess would be (even though it won’t help ya) is that Captain Howdy doesn’t have a true form.
GhettoExorcist
ParticipantCool pic but when I saw that you found a new pic I was thinking it was more of that ultra rare stuff you been churning up. Still a nice find.

ParticipantI think the real tragedy of Exorcist II is it could have been a truly great followup to The Exorcist. It has all the elements.Continuation of characters, characters have had time to mature,an incredible backstory. The writer just had too many ideas and a horrible way(the synch machine)to go about them.
There are very few sequels that match or surpass the original.
T2
Aliens
Empire Strikes Back
Spiderman 2
Dawn of the Dead
Army Of Darkness
Revenge of the Sith
Saw 2
Return of the KingAnd of course Breakin 2:Electric Boogaloo

ParticipantThe teaser trailer also contains a shot of possessed Regan(obviously not Linda Blair)with her mouth open as if she was screaming. Pretty creepy still.

ParticipantAwesome teaser.

ParticipantI have Blatty’s audiobook version. It’s like 8 tapes long though. Worth the investment.

ParticipantAwesome song and I totally dig the video.
