ParticipantI, personally, am not a huge fan of Friedkin’s voice and style of speaking. But I think he and Blatty together (and I’m amazed the latter is still alive and visible at his age) would be interesting if they prepared themselves properly.
I also think that getting the three living stars back together for a commentary would be fun for fans, especially since Max von Sydow doesn’t get a lot of credit for this film, even though his character is one of the most memorable.

ParticipantThanks guys, I guess I sort of jumped the gun in excitement.
I have been in touch with a professional framer in Studio City, CA in order to buy the right type of frame, and feel pretty confident it will help protect my investment.
In regards to eBay, I’m certain the item is genuine. I have had an account there since 2004 and know a lot of the fake warning signs. This poster was one I purchased from a “Mrs.Miniver”, who has a seller store for original movie posters (up to the hundreds of thousands of dollars) and a Power Seller status with 100% positive feedback on almost 450 items since their arrival in 1999, all of which are movie posters.
Can’t wait to get it properly framed and displayed!
It’s 25″ x 19″ by the way. Here’s a copy of the image on it. I like it better than the early ’74 one.

ParticipantHere’s mine:
A stellar visual and auditory transfer, which I know is possible because the film looked glorious for the TVYNS release. A crappy transfer WILL be WB’s fault and I will PROTEST THIS!
The original version and TVYNS in the same package.
The “Fear of God” documentary in 1080p.
Deleted scenes in 1080p if possible. Branching would be nice as well.
UNLIKELY WISH
TWO NEW COMMENTARIES
-William Friedkin and William Peter Blatty (recorded together)
-Linda Blair, Ellen Burstyn and Max von Sydow (recorded together)
That would be all I need; that last commentary could be a great one!

ParticipantHi everybody–my first post!
Now, I have to both agree and disagree with you here.
Let me begin by saying that right now I’m a 20 year old college student studying film theory and criticism. So I pretty much fall into the target group (IMDb is my homepage).
I believe that The Exorcist is the greatest modern horror film ever. I went to see it during the 2000 re-release and was hooked. Already I had been so desensitized to violence and gore that I found it difficult to be scared or upset by a horror movie anymore, The Exorcist changed that for me. I found it deeply disturbing and horrifying and was unable to sleep soundly for a few weeks afterwards (12 is too young to see this film).
But what stays with me to this day is this:
When I was in the theatre it was jammed full (I delibrately went to the latest showing on opening night for full effect). I looked behind me and a few rows back there were at least five kids who couldn’t have been more than 10 years old sitting together and laughing.
That was when I realized that they didn’t understand the film at all. You can’t understand this film and laugh at it, not even 35 years later.
I just saw it screened again last year for Halloween. Still the best ever. Don’t despair, there are those of us who, despite our youth, still appreciate this masterpiece.
