ParticipantI wish they had kept Jason Miller’s name out of the opening credits. For those who DIDN’T read the book, it would have been a huge JOLT to see Karras.

Participant“I would have loved the scene where Karras and Merrin were talking on the steps during their break in the exorcism. It added more depth, I think, and it was just a great moment in the book.”
Wasn’t this scene in “The version you’ve never seen”? If may have been shorter the the one in the book, but I do think it was there, in some form.kane
ParticipantI DO believe in posession.

ParticipantI enjoyed this film. The actress was great.

ParticipantBilly Dee Williams WANTED to play Two-Face. He even signed a 2 picture deal, for the chance to play Two-Face in a sequel. He was bought out, so that Tommy Lee Jones could be brought in.
And the current Joker is not faithful to the comics, nor is the way Dent becomes Two-Face. But I am ok with those changes.
Bale’s Batman voice can be hard to understand, and is already being spoofed on Youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2yv8aT0UFc
Do not watch if you have not seen the film.
For the record, being a Batman fan since I was a child in the 70’s, I do feel Burton’s film were over-rated, and that Bale is the best Batman.kane

ParticipantIf this has been posted before, sorry to repeat it. But on “Youtube’, the Turkish version of the Exorcist is up, in several parts. It follows the book a little more closely, in some small ways. Here is a link:

ParticipantFor her age, Linda is still a hot looking woman. Back in the late 70’s and early 80’s-WOW! I bought teh DVD of ‘Roller Boogie”, just to see her!

ParticipantThe novel based on the screenplay for ‘The Beginning’ is worth reading!!!!!!

ParticipantThe review I wrote when I saw it:
Halloween (2007) (2 stars-out of 4)
Heavy Metal artist turned film maker Rob Zombie gives us his ‘vision’ of the classic horror film “Halloween”, with this new remake.Being a HUGE fan of the original film I went into the theater with mixed emotions. I was glad to see Michael Myers on the big screen again, but nervous about just what Zombie would do with this opportunity.
Zombie fans should be pleased. Many of his “trademarks” are in this film: Foul Language (The ‘F’ word is uttered in some form over 10 times in the first 10 minutes alone)
Blood and gore (We are treated to many close-ups of people covered in blood, suffering, whimpering; and a baseball bat is put to a very wicked use)
A “White Trash” family, (The family of young Michael Myers) and Long Hair. (Michael has long, stringy hair through-out the film.)
Zombie is no amateur. He knows how to make a horror film. It may not be suited for all tastes, but regardless, it gets your attention.
But what about fans of the 1978 version? How will they feel about this new film? Speaking for myself, it was not as bad as I expected (and maybe wanted) but not as good as it could have been.
Zombie gambles that we want to know the back story of young Michael. Where as the 1st film spends about 12 minutes on the young Meyers and his escape as an adult many years later, Zombie spends 45. But what do we learn from this? Do we see the exact event that pushed Myers over the edge? I say ‘No’. Daeg Faerch as the young Michael is very good. And Malcom McDowell as Dr. Loomis is fantastic. But in the end, Michael’s motivations are still elusive.
The last part of the film follows the 1978 film pretty close.(Though Zombie does change the ending) But given just under an hour to cram everything in, it feels rushed. The three girls stalked by Myers are not given enough screen time to make us care about them. Laurie Strode played by Scout Taylor-Compton, fares the best. If only more screen time had been given to her, and other characters. The cast is very strong, but wasted for the most part.
Some scenes and dialog are taken straight from the 1978 film. While this is good to see, it only reminds us of how much better the 1978 film was.
It is evident that Rob Zombie is a fan ‘Halloween’. But in this case, ‘more’ does not mean ‘better’.
And if you have watched the ‘bootleg’ version of this film, be warned, that the ending has been changed!!!!!!!

ParticipantI HATED the mask in part 4. But otherwise I thought it was a good effort. 5 and 6 were both disapointments.

ParticipantI’d rather ‘wires’ then crappy CGI.
For it’s time, the effect is GREAT, and I still enjoy seeing it today.
I saw a ‘behind the scenes’ scene, where they spun Linda around in a circle in the air….kane
Participant“Ruckus” is an over-looked film that she did. It came out before “First Blood” and deals with the same issues, and some say it’s a better film.
“Summer of Fear” is good, too. And I enjoyed “Silent Assassins”, though she does not have a huge part in it.
“Roller Booggie” shows her in all her nubile glory!kane
