Good points there, Mike. But just remember, the next scene is Merrin’s dream … which contains Mr. Howdy himself.

That brings me to the theory that the *essence* (probably not the right word, but I’m sure you understand what I mean..) of Pazuzu is free to roam around the minds of his prey/the location where he is ‘trapped’, and is basically harmless until completely unleashed.

( And maybe, since the whole lion headed/wings/tail etc thing is pretty hard and somewhat silly to imagine, maybe the Captain Howdy face is only what our minds capable of conjuring up? )

With that said, I would have loved to be able to dub Kessel’s voice over the “… hey Priest?” part instead of just lowering the tone to sound evil, but unfortunately there’s no clips of him saying that. But.. replacing Howdy with Kessel , while fitting with the novel, just isn’t scary – and that’s the whole point of this scene – to up the creep factor – yeah? 😀

There’s always room for any other missing novel scenes, that maybe are in The Beginning. Ideas?

Yep, this is definitely the best version of the film. Watched it the other day after not having seen the film for about a year. It’s how I remember first seeing it on VHS..

The blue tints are really horrible, I can’t stand them.

A scene from an early cut of Dominion. While it is shorter than the scene on the DVD, it contains a few cut lines (that are in the unreleased novel for those who have read it). The mood is also slightly different.

Don’t like, sorry, lol. I don’t think it is needed at all, and looks quite out of place.

I think what would have been more effective is if when Merrin goes silent, have some audio from the opening scene or the scenes from The Beginning playing faintly in the background.
