ParticipantYeah, the only appropriate ending would be to show Boorman taking an endless series of pratfalls.

Participant… good catch. And doesn’t Karras die around Mother’s Day.. I think the demon says something about it being Mother’s Day in order to taunt Karras about his relationship with his mother…

ParticipantI’m constantly amazed at just how _much_ WPB lifted from real people in drawing his Exorcist characters, from Shirley and Sachi to the film director who became Burke Dennings..

Participantlunoso, thanks for the Thompson photo… he kind of looks like how I always imagined Dennings looked like.

ParticipantThanks, Blizzi… I might modify it, however, based on input from Justin and probably some others, that the scene may not be the actual exorcism night, but maybe the point at which “Patient X” was finally “captured” wandering the C&O Canal. But I would continue to view these scenes as a dreamlike, symbolic, metaphorical mix of Karras’ own confused memories and experiences.

ParticipantBlizzi – great finds. Thanks for sharing.

ParticipantMore good stuff!

ParticipantI’d like to pick WPB’s brain – I bet he has a storehouse of very odd data and experiences…

ParticipantThanks for more great pics, Blizzi.

ParticipantI think the only good thing about Ex III: Heretic was the brief scenes of Merrin in Africa – VERY brief – the scenes prior to Kokumo’s exorcism where Merrin is snapping pictures and the locusts swarm. Although obviously a soundstage-cum-sfx scene – not shot outdoors and certainly not in Africa – it had a certain power – which was then ruined by the utterly comic exorcism in the rock church. But for a few seconds, Heretic rose above itself – only to have Boorman drag it back down again.

ParticipantObvious correction: s/b Ex II the Heretic.

ParticipantHey, Blizzi, great find… spooky sounds, regardless of their origination.
