ParticipantHey jg,
It’s coming in October and you can pre-order here or on another site.
I’m going to wait on this one before purchasing. I want to read a few reviews because there were so many technical difficulties with the head-spinning action; i.e., the hard plastic hair did not allow for proper 360-degree spinning.
Additionally, the first version of the spiderwalk (I gave a review somewhere on here) is now down to a paltry $9.95 or cheaper. At $36.00+, I’ll wait.
I guess us fans are the real collectors of this kind of nostalgia. π

ParticipantGo for the “rolled” version to preserve its value.

ParticipantLOL! I alway love those apples to those who don’t use their noggins!
fatherbowdern
ParticipantOh, my. Don’t worry, Ryan … I’ll try to handle this one. CaptainHowdy.com is NOT eBay! If it were, and I had this many true fans to offer my collection of The Exorcist items to, I would be rolling in the dough! And, no, I’m not selling my life’s collection at any cost. (Unless someone wants to buy the Regan/Demon molds for about $150,000). π

ParticipantYes … and let us pray that Rob Zombie does NOT make an naive attempt to slaughter The Thing!
fatherbowdern
ParticipantSure there are: Right Here!
fatherbowdern
ParticipantWhy not give us “first dibs?” I like the idea that Ben is making the offer here first before venturing into eBay-land! π

ParticipantFriedkin used all kinds of parallelism throughout the film. Check the CaptainΓ’β¬β’s Parallel Imagery section (in the column right over there >>>>). Another notion with sounds is the fact that Friedkin was quite intentionally by foreshadowing events with all types of visceral enticements.

ParticipantYeah, jguthrie … another winner by Carpenter. I personally think it outranks his original Halloween by a long shot (OH NO, HERE COME THE HALLOWEEN RESPONSES!). π

ParticipantHi Sofia … no problem. I answered the emails yesterday, so check your inbox. Good thoughts on your behalf! I hope I don’t disappoint.

ParticipantWow! How amazing … I’ll bet both “touching up” and “remakes” will come into vogue one day. π

ParticipantI like David Lynch’s films, and this is a unique beginning feature. However, Eraserhead doesn’t make a dent in The Exorcist by comparison, IMO.
fatherbowdern
ParticipantAmen, jguthrie. You are preaching to choir! I’ve been saying the same things here on this website. My analogies are not only focused on remakes, but the dreadful TYVNS of The Exorcist. Even if I was not a big fan of the original, I think what WB did to the film is disgraceful by utilizing idiotic CGI to “update” a masterpiece to say it’s a version you’ve never seen. Bull. It’s was a version to milk the cash cow even more to a “newer” audience.
fatherbowdern
ParticipantIndeed. Good things come to those who wait. “In time.” “No. Now.” “In time.”
fatherbowdern
ParticipantTrue. If you click the link, you read: “Description: House at 3600 Prospect in Georgetown which was used (with alterations) for exterior shots in the 1974 movie, ‘The Exorcist’.”
I still don’t understand why the former owner wanted her plain picked fence back after WB spent all the money creating the wrought-iron and brick fence. Go figure.
