ParticipantFortunately, Blair didn't suffer from the “Karen Black” syndrome. Black seemed laughable when she tackled serious roles, poor thing.

ParticipantRegan's possession could come from a lot of different things, but mainly I believe Pazuzu projected the outcomes based the location. Father Karras and then the diocese had a direct connection to his nemesis, Father Merrin. Thus, the ongoing battle between Pazuzu and Karras was very well orchestrated from the onset by the demon. Originally, Pazuzu lost his battle in Northern Iraq and successfully won in D.C. against Merrin. Regan and Karras were just innocent bystanders and ultimately stems of institigation to achieve Pazuzu's triumphant victory over Merrin.

ParticipantThe Ouija Board certainly appears to be an option. However, the film never really specifies it as a the actual cause of Regan's possession, but only a vehicle for Pazuzu to befriend Regan. In TVYNS, the film reveals another option that may ring more true:
KARRAS
Why this girl? It makes no sense?MERRIN
I think the point is to make us dispair. To see ourselves
as animal and ugly … to reject the possibillity that God
could love us.Father Bowdern

ParticipantTenho medo de que eu posso ler em Português. Você tem um programa de tradução? Está sofisticados em Inglês e você provavelmente vai perceber tradutores melhor do que eu.
I know translators often break meanings, but I worked in several language translations many years ago for a psychological instrument. It may be worth a shot.
Merry Christmas!
