ParticipantCash would have made a clever formula for comedic relief. He did have the looks of Karras, but that voice would have sent shrill laughter throughout the audiences. I can only envision Miller versus Paul Newman, Stacy Keach, Jack Nicholson, etc. Of course, I thought Juliet Mills in the Beyond the Door was completely laughable after she appeared as the nanny in The Nanny and the Professor television show (1970-1971).

ParticipantWould not touch anything this buyer has including this relic of a 16mm copy that's been copied over and again. Not even worth the $6.95 + S&H and he knows it. His information below is rather ignorant for a seller on eBay.
“This is a trailer either on a core or a small reel for a motion picture from a major studio”
He doesn't know if it's core or a small reel, or is saying they mean the same thing? Gee, which motion picture? Which major studio?
He only offers “Merchandise Credit” while the buyer pays return shipping! He's slow to ship and doesn't even describe things accurately according to his feedback.
Don't buy any wooden nickels, kids.
Laughs!

ParticipantI don't really care for RT's site too much. Typically, I read Roger Ebert's reviews. He is a long-time fan of The Exorcist and has an impressive review here.

ParticipantThere is a definitive hallmark of Blatty's writing style dispersed throughout EIII. In fact, I think his direction was excellent considering he didn't helm anything prior, at least not that I'm aware of. I believe the first few scenes of the interior of the church was written in accordance with the screenplay that Friedkin rejected for The Exorcist … which is why we see it briefly in TVYNS/EDC. Yet Blatty was able to expound on that missing link in the original with a much more eloquent and stylistic fervor and I think it was effective.
There are the incredibly disjointed parallels between the scenes of the old woman crawling on the ceiling and the decapitation of the nurse. One was sheer laughter provoking while the other brought you in for the shocking kill. For that, I’m not sure if WB played their ace by forcing another delinquent execution of script by proxy just like the final unnecessary exorcism featuring the literal Hell on Earth.
Thumbs up to Blatty and thumbs down to WB executives for spoiling the goods.

ParticipantI'm willing to send him a bottle of his choice if he intertwines the Wizard of Oz and The Exorcist!

Participantkokumo, you are right on target with your analysis of both films! I especially find this summary sentence regarding EII as pure perfection: “It's a prestigious, ornate gift-wrapped box with absolutely nothing inside.”

ParticipantYea, Sof! It's really great! Did you get the egg? I just threw out everything in my desk's hutch, added some really cool “change your mood” LED lights for a few of my Alien figurines. Both cabinets are on purple LED now and the eggs, queen, chestburster, etc. look very interesting. I'll try to take a picture after I grade a few things.
