Not a nice remark.
That's right, your remark was not necessary. I have edited mine … do you have what it takes to do the same?

November 17, 2010 at 8:13 AM #23882hammer horrorParticipantI did it, although mine was simply a joke just to light up the tone of this thread. Have you noticed the laugh at the end? I suppose humor can be a difficult matter to understand if you belong to a different country. But to avoid misunderstandings, I won’t post funny comments anymore, whatever good or bad they could be. And this is not supposed to be an infantile reaction …

ÂWhat struck me was how amazing Jason Miller was. I mean seeing his performance in context of the movie I thought it was great but now seeing his performance in context of having to perform opposite Linda's voice I think what he did was brilliant. He must of been told that they were going to do an overdub of Linda's voice and based his performance on that premise. Because it didn't feel like he was responding to that little girl but something truley unnerving.
Just when you thought you couldn't appreciate this movie any more something like this comes along and shows another layer to the making of this film.
Thank you for finding this clip 🙂

No problems, hammer. Sometimes things do translate differently from one country to another. “Keep you pecker up” in Britain is quite different than “Keep your pecker up” in the States.Â
Plus, I'm probably old enough to be your father!Father Bowdern

That's probably true and Ellen Burstyn aided him in his performance as he admitted. Friedkin was very astute at hiring his unknown actors like Miller, Marliaros, O'Malley, etc.

Well, I am 45 … Don’t forget that I am Italian born in France and living in Germany. I am not mother tongue English. I can speak and write in four languages but I am sometimes a bit confused.
Father Merrin, thanks for the nice post.

Well, hammer, you and I could be brothers! Don't worry about the comments, I now understand you and I appreciate your differences. You do very well at writing English and I enjoy reading your posts!

January 31, 2011 at 12:57 AM #24404AristillusParticipantThey were never going to use Lind's own voice for the demon speaking, even MacCambridge had to abuse her vocal chords with over-smoking and such to get the raspiness to her voice. Even in the book Blatty gave the demon a more deep bass raspiness, so it was obvious they never going to leave Linda's voice in except where it was put through distortion at the higher registers.
Linda spoke the words and then Mercedes was overdubbed, that was how it was always going to be.
