ParticipantSorry to say it too: The Exorcist. After it was released, Linda was a child star without a real future in “Hollyweird.” It’s sad because she was nominated for an Oscar, but knocked out of winning because of the Mercedes McCambridge feud that was going on (Friedkin or his team should have made sure everything was handled through lawyers to seal every crack about McCambridge, but failed to do so). I guess the Academy voters couldn’t get past that what they were seeing was real acting and that Mercedes was the voice (albeit Mercedes had an incredible voice for this part). Duel ownership of a role just put Blair into the “I can’t be a Jodie Foster” field … and that’s ashamed. Who else could we even think of to do the part WITH a voice like Mercedes McCambridge? Couldn’t happen unless they hired a 40-year-old little person who chain-smoked and drank whiskey all day long! 🙂

ParticipantI’m partial to the Wes Craven tv pic “Stranger in Our House” and also “Born Innocent” with the infamous sequence involving rape-by-feather duster. And it was fun to see her pop up in a “Scream” movie. Or “repossessed” if only to see her dressed as an icecream cone crying out “Lick me! Lick me!”.

ParticipantI’ve seen Linda in The Exorcist,Born Innocent,Sweet Hostage,Exorcist II-The Heretic,Hell Night and Ruckus…. I think that The Exorcist is the best!

ParticipantFriends,
Outside THE EXORCIST, that’s hard to answer. ‘Born Innocent’ was an intense role and as kukumo stated, it was fun to see her pop up in a ‘Scream’ movie. ‘Chained Heat’ could have been interesting if it were written as a movie seriously studying treatment of women in foreign jails (as opposed to being just sexploitation). Maybe, one day, a University student will study all her films.
Cheers & God Bless

ParticipantProbably “Exorcist II: The Heretic.” Although, “The Exorcist” and “Summer of Fear” were good too.

ParticipantEver since I saw Linda Blair in the Exorcist I really think she is a very talented actress, not to mention a very attractive woman. Does anyone know what her best film to date is?

Participant“Hell Night” was an ok (as cheap slasher pics go) genre item. I love many of the other movies cited but as a slasher movie junkie from way back, “Hell Night” is worth a peek.

ParticipantI like all Linda Blair films but my favourites apart from the Exorcist are Born Innocent, Sarah T and Sweet Hostage.Â
People should also check out a rather obscure film she made in Australia back in 1992 called Fatal Bond.
