ParticipantI searched the forums, and I don’t think this has been mentioned before; sorry if it has. In a shot which was kept in the film, when the waiter in Iraq asks “Something else?”, we can see a man behind Merrin who seems to be praying on Islamic prayer beads. It looks like just a piece of cord in this still, but take a look at it in the film.

In a shot which was edited out, Merrin prays the Catholic rosary either before the exorcism or during the break on the stairs.

I’m assuming (though we all know what happens when we do that) that the man with the beads in Iraq was strategically placed and the beads are inentional. If not…serendipity in the extreme!

ParticipantThat's a good parallel … but I'm not sure if a Catholic (Chaldean, in particular), would have received a very warm welcome in a Muslin (Islam) square in Northern Iraq. However, I do like finding parallels and Friedkin put enough in the film that I wouldn't be surprised by it.

ParticipantHe's not necessarily Catholic. There are Islamic prayer beads, google it and see.
Anyway, if I may be (partly) facetious, the parallelism may have been retained somewhat. When Chris walks through Georgetown and sees those two slightly creepy nuns, they are wearing long dangling rosaries. Another parallel: those nuns always make me think of the two men walking hand in hand in Iraq, one of them seeming to be blind.Â
Incidentally, I'm pretty sure those nuns are Dominicans (“go pick on them”). My Dad had two sisters who were in that order. They had the same white habits with black veils.
Man, the things this film makes you think of…

ParticipantYes … and the nuns were filmed repeatedly until Friedkin got exactly what he wanted. It's in the first documentary on the 25th Anniversary edition. “Holy beads” were a popular presence in the film … and not by accident.

KeymasterNice parallel image, I never would have noticed. Well spotted!

ParticipantI stumbled upon an interesting thread on a popular gaming forum while hanging out in a coffee shop in Seattle. People were debating whether or not the payouts were consistent, so I did some digging to see is the clubhouse casino legit https://clubhousecasino.cloud/about/ before putting my own money on the line. I’ve always been cautious, but after seeing several positive withdrawal stories from fellow Americans, I dove into the poker rooms. I had a rough start, but eventually, I managed to secure a win that was substantial enough to satisfy my competitive spirit.
