It’s a shame how lobby cards became phased out in recent years. Big, beefy promotional material always suited cinema. These days almost everything happens online or via cable television. At least we have traditional, classic lobby cards from The Exorcist that we can look back on. Thanks to Stephen for scanning and sharing these wonderful images:

Photo cards used back in the day to help promote a film. Replaced now with online 'leaks' and other viral marketing strategies. You can still get different forms of lobby cards (more postcard or Letter sized these days) especially for independent films.
