It’s been a while since I’ve posted some Exorcist FanArt and I’d like to apologize to Hatter46 for not publishing this earlier, as he sent it to my inbox some time ago (and posted it in the discussion forums).
Long-timers here at The Exorcist Fansite will remember a piece of art by MIKE back when Stellan Skarsgard was announced in the lead role of Father Merrin in ˜those Exorcist prequels’ being made by Morgan Creek. He spliced two pictures together, one of Stellan Skarsgard and one of Max Von Sydow (the original Father Merrin) to demonstrate just how great this casting choice was.
Recently, Hatter46 took MIKE’s image one step further and rendered this amazing image of Von Sydow and Skarsgard blended as one Father Merrin. Brilliant work.
Looking at this makes you realize how perfect this casting really was, and how much potential there was for the prequel(s) that unfortunately failed to live up to their hype.
