Uhm..whatever they said! Make it a definitive collector’s item – bootleggers and pirates won’t get their hands on the artwork, the limited box case with both a written introduction in the fabulous booklet and a brand new DVD-introduction! Perhaps a new retrospective, like “Wes Craven on The Omen”?
Restoration of the original film and side-by-side comparisons?I could go on all week..:P
Thank you for all the very kind comments!
I’ll attempt to do Merrin justice next, and after that I’m not quite sure. Those are the two main Exorcist-projects I had in mind. But you never know what I might end up doing – if anyone has requests, feel free to share them.
Yep, Father Merrin – that’s the one.
The absolute height of crap, but I’ve kept it for some reason anyway.I picked up The Exorcism Of Emily Rose today too. Not bad, but for other reasons.
“Last week on Extreme Exorcist: Home Edition, little Regan began cursing and pissing. Join us for more mischief today!”
Sorry, I should learn when to shut my yap.
Still, if (or when *sigh*) there’s a remake, my curiosity’ll be overwhelming..
I’m like a kid experiencing a new flavour of candy or something. It’ll never be like the classics, but I’m still going to have a taste.Mine is similar to Father Merrin’s

I look forward to it. I’m sure Rob will keep the tension, and it won’t just be a big gorefest. He has Carpenter’s blessings after all – it will be faithful, but without being a shot-for-shot remake.
All the best to you Rob!
Doubt I’ll EVER stop seeing the original though, that film is marvellous.Just for Jen’s sake, the films are:
Hellraiser
Hellbound: Hellraiser II
Hellraiser III: Hell On Earth
Hellraiser: Bloodline
Hellraiser: Inferno
Hellraiser: Hellseeker
Hellraiser: Deader
Hellraiser: HellworldI just watched Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey. It is in no way definitive, but somewhat informative.
I think there oughta be a music week in school (and/or film week), where for each day, one major musical style is discussed and explored.
Metal Monday, Rap Tuesday, Pop Wednesday..
(And this should obviously be required viewing for the metal day)I’m seeing it on Tuesday, got my tickets booked. 🙂
And I made yet another (heinous) piece of art! 😛
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/34247615/The Exorcist II is an excellent film.
….nah, seriously:
I have the 25th Anniversary version, but I haven’t watched it much (only for the commentary). These days (after getting the longer F.O.G) there’s no real point in seeing it. If I could, I’d probably see the original film as released back then – but I still think VYNS is the definitive Exorcist film and experience for me. 🙂
Which is why it’s also my favourite film.I was wondering if the Captain ever thought of making the ultimate Exorcist reference archive?
It’s always a work in progress, but it’s great if you want to look something up which references The Exorcist. There’s one for the Friday the 13th films that looks like this:
