Sorry, sham … the only videos are those of Dietz in the film … I think WB wanted to keep her under wraps like they did McCambridge.

I DO, however, believe possession is 9/10ths of the LAW!

Ryan, six other books have cited this book. How was it to read? I know it’s old (1985), but usually the best finds are the ones that people trash.

Going back to columbian … I use Webshots because I can copy the image (IMG) directly into this blog. After you upload, you can click on the links on the right-hand side of Webshots where you’re pics are to get the IMG address. I’m sure there are lots of others … I tried flickR and I don’t like and, yes, these are free:

I agree with Justin on Blair doing the possessed part. But, I remember reading that Blair got a little heady and refused to sit in the makeup chair and be tortured with the hours of having to sit still for so long. (I would have done if I was her considering The Exorcist is her only claim to real fame – and that’s really unfortunate because she was a talented actress in her youth).

Isn’t it amazing how the movie transformed Willie into the “little old lady” type? Oh, and, Sofia … when Chris and Regan leave the house, we see Willie closing the iron gate and saying her farewell to Father Dyer. Are we to assume that Willie and Karl, like Sharon, are staying in D.C.? Or, is the house their’s (I don’t think so and I can’t remember reading that about them). I really need to go back through the book again (I actually have a first-edition version signed by Blatty, which makes me a little hesitant to “use” it, so I going to have to buy a paperback!). 🙂 Love you comments, perspectives, and vast knowledge on the movie and book, Sofia! 🙂

You’re welcome, Sofia. I didn’t realize she was a 70’s actress. I love your youtube videos!

And, yes, Ghetto, who are those select few people. Perhaps we can use some lawyer language to scare them about copyright and get them to hand over their copies of Dietz’s material! 😉

I agree, Sofia. I’ve seen your Sims and they are nothing like the ones that appear to have Turret’s! 😉

You’re welcome, Sofia … I can’t remember who added a comment in one of the blogs for me to actually show what I was talking about. But, the items are really there if you look at each dip of the silver teaspoon (it happens twice). Watching it in slow-mo helps … amazing what we don’t see! And I always thought camera folks were actually behind the camera and that’s not necessarily the case. Or, it could be another person besides the cameraman, like Friedkin or Blatty.

Yep, and they are called, “phantom smells.” Which only goes along with more mystery in the novel. Brain tumor victims also get these smells, so I think the doctor was shooting for it because this passage is prior to Regan going through all the gray-matter tests! 🙂
