By the way, Father B, you might want to check out this interview with Linda Blair. There's a snipper of behind the scenes footage from the spiderwalk scene… you can see one of the crew wiping blood from Hager's mouth.

    Cool

That's gotta finally put that one to bed then.

Yes, it is true, it finally put that one to bed. Thank Heaven! My real disappoint now lies in the fact that I believed Mark Kermode whe he said had access to all the archive footage and that Friedkin said there was no other alternative versions of the spiderwalk shot. I enjoy the Fear of God, but now I have a very different POV from the “expert” on the film, The Exorcist.

Ellen is my aunt and she visits often when she's on the east coast. She is lovely lady and soul.

To me she looks more like Dietz … she is not as puffy as Linda … but maybe I am wrong

Hammer, have you actually seen the documentary? I'm taking a snapshot from a moving-film documentary and I'm listening to Roizman and Blair. In particular, Roizman said he took the “majority” of the BTS materials of Dietz … that does not mean everything we see on the vomit scene sequence is Dietz. My point in posting that particular pic that you captured from my original posting, which I have now removed, is both subjective and objective. Let's just say they're all Dietz … it does not bother me in the least because I trust more expert eyes than my own.  Smile

Sorry, Folks … too much quipping and snipping … it's just easier to stop posting and eliminate the belly-aching pic!  Laughing

I think this makes my 1000th post, so it must be time for me to go …

On that note, here is the bloody spiderwalk. Based on the novel, the original filming sequence of Linda with snake-like tongue, I never knew it existed and I'm happy to say, that while I vehemently denied its filming, it is yet another mystery of this mysterious film.

Okay, I've been “pinned on a topic!” Yeah, my first pin (although I have no clue what it means or who does it).  Laughing

At any rate, I believe a series of photos will help in understanding why I think the last photo is Blair. Hopefully, the entire sequence caption is clear enough to read on each pic with Roizman and Blair commenting, but I retyped them:

Owen Roizman: “It was a very tricky scene to shoot…”

Owen Roizman: “…because we had to have all these devices installed in her mouth.”

Owen Roizman: “…but I filmed mainly behind-the-scenes footage of Eileen Dietz”

Owen Roizman: “But finally, when we were ready to shoot …”

Owen Roizman: “…Linda came in and we made the shots mostly with her.”

Owen Roizman: “In the final cut…”

Owen Roizman: “…there's a subliminal cut of Eileen that we had made, but basically it's Linda.

Linda Blair: “The whole time, of course, I have to keep my mouth open…”

Linda Blair: “…because one the equipment is laid on and put in…”

Linda Blair: “…and it goes in my mouth and comes back out and you cannot close your mouth…”

Linda Blair: “…because if you close your teeth it'll backfire into my throat.”

Linda Blair: “It was really, really hard.”

From the film level, I can see the second pic being that of Blair because of some of the facial features (like her pugged nose which Eileen does not have) along with the dialogue that Roizman is speaking. If you disagree, that's fine, too. Ultimately, in the end, we have footage that would never have been released if it wasn't for Roizman and the BR.  Wink

You're like me, Justin. If there's a sign that reads, “Do Not Push Here,” I always push it anyway!  Laughing

I'm glad you enjoyed them. It's very late here and I didn't have time to publish the spiderwalk from the 2nd documentary … I know that scene interested both of us and can now be kinda of put to bed! BTW, I did check the BR for the wires during the levitation scene … they are still there. Frown  For some reason I had my set on 60Mhz instead of 120 and when I switched it, they very obvious.

    Have a Great Day!

Just hold on to all your copies. I sold The Exorcist Deluxe DVD Box Set with the Linda Blair signed Sentitype for a mint to a collector in Japan. I had 12 signed copies that I acquired from a video store that was going out of business in Florida and they were unaware of the signed Senitypes. All purchases were only $18.00 each and they paid the S&H. I kept the best one for myself. This was a major screw up by WB because they didn't make enough DVD copies at the time supposedly because they miscalculated how many people had DVD players and how many people would buy the film in that format.

Sorry, folks, I didn't see this post and started on the BR because I knew some individuals don't have their hands on a copy yet. I did post the personal message from William Friedkin in that posting.

    Thanks, Cap!

One other quick story, Matt Damon has been the most gracious when I asked for his autograph on a plane heading to our destination in Dallas/Fort Worth. He took the time ask how I was doing and thanked me for being a fan of his films (not him, his films). The biggest bitch I ever came in contact with was Jennifer Lopez who shoved her hand in my face and said very snotty, “Please move out my way, please! I don't have time for that.” Eff you JLo … you can't act or sing and I could set a six-pack of beer on that ass of yours.  Wink

Cap, I was tempted to buy the DVD since it was staring me in the face when I bought The Exorcist digibook. But, I just couldn't fork out another $20.00 just to own it because it has a cool cover.
