ParticipantYeah … let's hope no one becomes a “rotton egg!”

ParticipantYes! That would indeed put a “feather” in your cap!

ParticipantHonestly, I believe the Hitchcock-like cameo that Friedkin would have made in the film would have come up somehwere along the way. It would be a nice piece of trivia. That scene is so iconic it would make a lot of sense for Friedkin to be a part of it although I've never seen or read that Friedkin ever appeared in any film, including his own. To me, even on blu-ray, it doesn't look like Friedkin at all.
I've often wondered the same thing about the women in the asylum. Of course, I know a few actresses who would die to play those parts, too!

ParticipantDid you know Linda Blair's mother plays the nurse who pops her head in when the doctors are reviewing Regan's x-rays? She says, “Excuse me, doctors. Chris MacNeil is on the phone. She says it's urgent.” I've always wondered if that was some kind of payoff for what they were putting or about to put her daughter through on that set.

ParticipantYou “crack” me up, Steve! You keep “scrambling” my thinking with all these new lines!Â

“What an eggs-o-lent day for an eggs-ore-cism!”

PS: Steve, you should use your iClone program for 30-second version of The Exorcist (like the one with bunnies) using hens, chickens, roosters, and eggs.

HA! I thought so. 🙂
LOL, Steve. Reread the posts above. It was the writer, Mr. Blatty, not the director, Mr. Friedkin, in that scene.

Father Bowdern

ParticipantThat was actually Mr. Blatty in The Exorcist on the fake movie set “Crash Course.” Blatty wrote the lines for himself as you recall.

ParticipantLMAO! Love it! Using the lines are great! So, doe this mean, “Your mother sucks 'cocks' in hell” is related to roosters and Karras's mother was a chicken?

ParticipantI'm afraid it's just an actor and not Friedkin. It sounds too close to the Hitchcock cameos and I would believe someone on the set, including the ego-centered Friedkin, would have mentioned it after the fact. However, I think it's a clever idea!
On another note of trivia, the demon mask used in the movie Onibaba (1964) inspired William Friedkin to use a similar design for the makeup in subliminal shots of a white-faced demon, better known as Captain Howdy.
