Good point, Captain. IMDB has very low ratings for James Cameron’s Titanic, too. When I was part of the official Exorcist Movie site promoting TVYNS, I noticed a tremendous amount of the youth bashing the film for being too slow and not gory enough. The only scene grabber was the crucifix in Regan’s crotch.

It’s not to say that all younger people don’t get it, but as Ghetto and RATBOY already analyze, it’s a new generation now that has grown up on blood and gore and simple philosophies that if it’s not “fixed” in under 30 minutes, then it’s crap because the attention span is lacking. God help some of them that are “tied and bound” to watch Citizen Kane! 😉

Yeah, the top one is from the TFOG when the camera is running on Blair right after the head spin. It’s the scene where you can tell that the contact lenses are hurting Blair’s eyes because she keeps moving her eyeballs around and squeezing her eyes.

The second is definitely just another capture of the head spin.

dsea, you’re not a dummy if you didn’t catch the “bullfrog” throat in the original film … you may have been “overting” your eyes after watching Regan being flung back and forth on the bed. Seytan is so funny and so poorly done! I’m sure they spent at least $100.00 on special effects! 😉

If you go back and read what Halloran said when he was interviewed, he said that he thought the boy was mimicking the Latin they (the priests) were using. Makes me think perhaps Ronald wanted some more attention to get out of school. Since there is no scientific evidence that the priests can point to, I guess it’s really up in the air as to whether Hunkeler was playing a trick. I believe that even Halloran (or Bowdern) said he knew of physical symptoms, like blushing, that could create the marks on the boy’s body that the priest (Bowdern) reported. I wish the diary had not been burned and that it could have been analyzed more thoroughly … even if it did contain only brief bullet points versus a full-flesh daily description.

Has anyone seen the diary online (in scans)? The only one I can find is a typed copy of one page and you can’t even read that one because of the resolution. I don’t even know if that page is real. Of course, the diary does not prove anything except what the priests believed was the real deal.

Here’s the link for a “review” of Seytan. I laughed so hard at this person’s editorial. The pictures speak for themselves. In particular, check out the “electro-shock therapy” one with the rag “professionally stuffed” into poor little Gul’s mouth! Oh, we’ll have to call Captain Howdy, “Captain Lersen!”

    Enjoy the laughs:

And, for extra fun, watch this one from youtube … I about peed my pants at time slot 1:19. Personally, it looks like a child’s ride and when the mother gets on top … oh, brother, it looks like some type of weirdo 70’s porn gone bad, really bad!

Hmmm … if this was a real deal, I think it would have sold (which it didn’t) and it would have went up on eBay for a higher price. Plus, the seller, has the “buy at your discretion” part that protects them if it’s not real. Not saying they are dishonest, but it’s hard to believe it is legit.

Could be from any scene throughout the movie, but typically someone would have spotted it somewhere in the film already … we all have those “alert eyes.” It really could be a part of the film, and then again, it couldn’t. But, it only started out around 9 bucks on eBay and nobody bought it. What would disappoint me is if the crucifix had, “Made In China, 1993” imprinted or stamped on the back! 😉

Wow, Ratboy, the Wiki Admin, Angela, should have never belittled you in public. You need to post what she said to you here for those us interested in why this admin felt that The Exorcist is not worthy … it’s only the highest-grossing horror/drama film in history (and rightfully so). I’ll bet Angela likes to be the administrator of the Angels, Fairies, and Pixie Dust! 😉

If the exorcist was shot on 70mm (or whatever it was back then), will it make a tremendous amount of different if we see this HD or Blu-Ray? Signed, Behind the Technology Times.

I just think it’s a great trick of the demon in the film … he wouldn’t be as scary sharing a body with 12-yo girl without making a her muscles work to his advantage.
