ParticipantHi Amity,
I’m not getting any returns on my search queries on here. I posted several pictures last year of the entire filming area including the famous Hitchcock steps. I’m with you in that the steps were not replaced. These were a solid pour cement step with 1-2″ toppers. The area has been modified over the years, but trying to remove solid cement steps would be a structural nightmare. The handrails are indeed relatively newer, but the steps are the same. The photos I did find of Kinderman in front of the steps are pretty clear and I compared them to the ones I have. There are vertical imperfections that still match from the original pour. Unless your friend has real proof, it’s doesn’t make sense.

ParticipantHammer,
Thanks so much for linking this video here. What's intriguing is that most of the video is just re-hashed and has been flipped backward from the original sources. The person (people) definitely did their research including something that Justin (this site) and moi (this site) pointed out years ago; e.g., Justin's wires suspending Blair and my screen capture of the camera/crew silver spoon reflection in the dining room scene with Lee J. Cobb and Burstyn. These are not well known unless the producers perused this site, IMHO. Nope, not exclusive to this site, but it's nice to know where information has been lifted but the internet is anybody's ball of wax. 🙂
Other than that, I find the video interesting; especially the video spot featuring movie sound effects technician, Gonzalo Gavira!
Again, thanks for sharing!

ParticipantLOL Dave. I think (at least I hope) oachi is just casting in their own mind. Although, Miley could certainly play the possessed Regan easily as long as twerking is involved!
Yes. I would love to see an in-depth mini-series that includes all these subplots. I recall that Friedkin told Blatty that he hated his original script which was very, very close to the novel and asked him for a re-write. It could be reversed this time around if the execs were not involved at all in the mini-series like they were in the 70's with the original film which ultimately led to a lot of the editing to keep the chairs full every two hours in the theaters.

ParticipantI don't think a mini-series would have anything “extraneous.” Blatty wrote very intense conversations between Karras and the demon not to mention the intriguing plots involving Mary Jo as well as Karl's and Willie's daughter, Elvira.
If given the right amount of time and money, The Exorcist mini-series could easily compete for a place alongside one of Stephen King's made-for-television movies that have always been successful.

ParticipantCap, isn't this the artwork you featured on one of the main topics? Nice artwork and I want one too to add to my collection.

ParticipantI was one of the few people who was very excited about Titanic in 3D. Unfortunately, it did nothing for the film in the theater and I saw it in one of the best theaters. I actually fell asleep.
The Exorcist will probably hit a 3D status at some point because WB enjoys making the profits from this stunning film. However, I don't really see anything that 3D could do for the film other than make it seem cheap and gimmicky. I agree with Friedkin's thinking about not doing it. The film is too sacred like it is and has that documentary feel that 3D would absolutely destroy. :/

ParticipantHi actfray,
Not sure about the red X's or empty squares but I'm sure the administers of the site will know better than me. However, they do show up on my end but that could mean I have them locally stored.
I do love Georgetown and the atmosphere, especially this favorite site. 🙂

Aussie artwork has been changed, now it's just labeled as the Extended Director's Cut.

Forgot to mention it, but those really nice stairwell lights are either superimposed in Photoshop or this shot is from the original and just tinker with. Those lights are not there anymore and have been replaced with sodium lamps that hug the wall based on the photos I took when I just visited. Bummer.

ParticipantYea. For once I won't even buy this when it hits the $5.00 bins. What a really rude thing to do to this film after 40 glorious years of raking in the income. WB once again dropped the ball on what could have been. Shame.

ParticipantI've been inside the gate and seen through the front door.
Ahh, I was hoping you got further than I did. The planter boxes are a unique touch the new owners added though.
