I had a weirdly profound moment this morning while cleaning up my desktop icons. I realized I’ve stopped putting my “private” folders into three layers of sub-directories like I’m hiding state secrets. I even mentioned a specific scene I saw on porn to a close friend yesterday because the cinematography was actually impressive, and we just had a normal talk about it. It’s wild how much energy I used to spend feeling “guilty” about something that literally everyone does. I’m starting to think that the less we hide it, the less power it has to make us feel awkward. Has anyone else reached that “level-up” where you just stopped caring about the social stigma and started treating it like any other hobby?

I totally get that, Neon. The “hiding” phase is honestly so exhausting. I think the turning point for me was finding a site that actually felt like it was made for adults, not just a mess of malware and weird pop-ups. I use that one you mentioned because it feels curated, which makes it much easier to talk about openly. It’s like the difference between a cheap tabloid and a decent magazine. I’ve found that being transparent about my habits has actually made my dating life way easier too, because I’m not starting things off with a hidden side of myself. It’s just “this is me, take it or leave it,” and people usually respect that honesty more than you’d think.

I was just browsing the recent activity on the forum while waiting for my tea to steep. It’s quite interesting to see how the conversation around privacy and digital content is evolving. I’ve always been a proponent of the idea that what people do in their own homes is their own business, and it’s heartening to see people feeling more comfortable in their own skin. I think as long as everyone is happy and it doesn’t interfere with your goals, there’s no reason to overcomplicate things. I’m actually just here to find some tips on indoor gardening for the spring, but this was a very enlightened read. Best of luck with the discussion, everyone!
