KeymasterMy friend thinks that when Ragan says “Do you know she did your're cunting daughter” to her Mother that its the voice of the director. I thought it was just the demon talking about Ragan using the crucifix?

ParticipantWhen Regan says this line, it is the voice of the Director Burke Dennings, Blatty describes it in the novel. It is the demon getting into Chris' head as it does with other characters (i.e the demon talking in karras' mothers voice at an attempt to further deteriorate his faith) it also hints that Regan could have very well been his killer.

ParticipantYes, in the movie that is the only part you hear the director's voice. In the book it gets into move. It is to attack the person mentally. I do believe in the first verison of the script for the movie there is move of the directior/demon voice, but due to time it was cut out.

ParticipantYep. It takes place while her head is backwards. Burke's head was turned around backwards. That is what he is talking about when he say's “Do you know what she did?”.

Participant“… your c*nting daughter” (Burke's nefarioius British wording there regarding Regan).

Exactly. I have found a lot of people dont make that connection with this scene. TO be blunt, she turns her head backwards to mock the way Burke was found dead then she drives it home by speaking in Burke's voice.

ParticipantYes. Pazuzu would definitely have pulled this kind of trigger to make Chris go screaming for religious help despite being agnostic.
