I made it with The Sims, of course. 😉 This is my version of events that happened a few hours before we see Chris in bed reading her lines.

Chris is throwing a party to celebrate her coming to Georgetown and the shooting of her movie, which starts on the following day.
She and Regan have a conversation about Swan Lake and the evil magician Rothbart ( I thought he would symbolize Captain Howdy) There's also more background on Regan's feelings towards her dad and Dennings and how uncomfortable she feels around him (Dennings).
On part 2 ( I haven't edited yet) you can see Regan's dancing ballet to a melancholic, beautiful music behind it;
Chris offers Burke a present and Regan looks up at him with resentful eyes;
Regan goes up to bed while Chris speaks to one of her friends. Some time later, she glances up and feels a biting chill go through her – as she hears Regan's voice in her thoughts calling her in a mournful manner- she's saying, “Mommy…Mommy, I'm cold. Mommy, come up, I need you!”ÂÂWell, Part 2 ends with the party guests having a toast to Chris and Burke… They call them, “best Director and actress.” Then, at midnight the rapping sounds begin, and it cuts to the first scene we see in Georgetown…

Great work. It would have been nice to see more character building of both Chris and Regan … especially Regan and this kind of scene would have helped.
BTW, your SIMS of Shirley (Chris MacNeil) reminds me of Bridget Fonda in Single White Female!

Omg, Bridget Fonda?? I tried to make her look like Shirley as much as possible lol, but now that you mentioned Single White Female I kind of see the resemblance! 😉

Sofia, I've not seen “Death Dreams” yet, but it sounds like the dialogue was fairly compatible with the scene you excerpted from the novel. Well done. 🙂

Steve, have you watched Death Dreams?
It's really odd, but she does look like Bridget Fonda, doesn't she? If there was a remake (for television only), perhaps Fonda is old enough now to play Chris yet I'm not really sure if she can pull of the emotional part like Burstyn did.
