ParticipantIt's been a few years since the debacling of Warners' mishandling of “Dominion/The Beginning”, exorcism films are semi hot right now (and what could be hotter than “The Exorcist”?), people have repeatedly rejected the 'prequel' concept so it's time for Warner to pony up a few hundred grand to hire a competent screenwriter and a couple of mil on a young director who understands that generations of film-makers before him have crafted & perfected a language of film & that the disorienting rapid editing of cg works best if your audience is stoned. I'm read for a serious reboot & since it probably wont involve a remake, go revisionist & start fresh with “The Exorcist II”

Participantthe idea does sound decent….I had an idea of a modern day sequel which includes “The Last Exorcism” and “Emily rose” in the mix. In my story a young priest researches exorcisms and researches The Exorcisms of Cheche,Regan MacNeil, Damien Karras, Emily Rose, and Nell Sweetzer. And conclude that it was all the vile work of Pazuzu, the islamic demon of the air. And he has a sinking feeling that the demon would strike again at any time… and my movie would feature Regan MacNeil as a mature woman, Played by the wonderful Linda Blair of course ๐

but im just an exorcist fan with an extreme amount of imagination and creativty (probably brought on by my ADD)

ParticipantI was actually starting on an Exorcist fanfic that would've also had a mature Regan MacNeil, bringing up her own daughter…and Pazuzu deciding to get back at Regan by possessing her daughter, forcing Regan to relive her own past experience, and perhaps confront Pazuzu himself with her own sense of faith, love for her daughter, and determination to be rid of the demon from her life once and for all. ๐

ParticipantYou're all barking. Leave the sequel thing alone to die the death it deserves.

ParticipantThe first one was great. The “speical” effects were ALL real, and done by hand. They would be CGIs now.
The second was a HUGE let-down. I thought it would live up to the first one, it did not.
The third was okay, not that good either, not that bad. It was close to the book(the REAL sequel to the first one) and the third wasn't THAT close to the book.
The “prequals” had to many “loose ties” and were slightly silly.

My opinion. :/

The Exorcist:Masterpiece
Exorcist II: The Heretic: Good acting, really bad storyline ๐
The Exorcist III: Legion: Amazing psycological horror, the TRUE sequel to The Exorcist andรย a movie worthy to the original
Exorcist: The Beginning: The premise was good, but the movie in of itself was not executed well, It was a bad attempt at merging “The Mummy,”Saw”, and “The Exorcist” and….it was basically a disaster.
Dominion:Prequel to The Exorcist: This movie is 10 TIMES better than the Beginning, Granted its no “Legion” but its still a good movie in its own way. One thing I liked about dominion was that it was basically a supernatural/psycological drama and there are some parts that make me think that Blatty was involved with Dominion. It was good, but Morgan Creek wanted an Action/Slasher/Demonic posession horror. And it turned out badly.
