I know many exorcist fans dont want to hear about this, but it COULD happen one of these days. So It would be good if you guys gave me some indication on what you would like to see.

Kerr Smith IMO would be good playing Damien Karras. He did excellent in Final Destination and in Dawson's Creek. He is a pretty good actor, so I bet he would be able to play a priest that lost his faith. And besides, he's a young, good-looking guy, like Jason Miller was back in 73.

Daviegh Chase, played Samara Morgan from The Ring, my second favorite horror flick, but she looks way too old nowadays  to be Regan MacNeil. What do you think?

 

So if anyone can play one of the originals, who would it be?

Regan could be played by Abigail Breslin, from Zombieland and Little Miss Sunshine. No reason, just going off looks. She did do a delightful job in Zombieland. 🙂

My choice for Regan MacNeil would be Chloe Grace Moretz, who played HitGirl in Kick Ass.

I know that Shirley would have been wonderful playing Chris, but for some reason, im just not feeling Sachi being Regan. Linda Blair was just too perfect for that role, the beautiful round cheeks, the little button nose and that gorgeous brunette hair…… idk I guess im just a Linda fan…. And besides, Sachi MacLaine is older than Linda Blair, Linda was 14 when she was in the Exorcist, Sachi would have been 17 i think because Linda was born in early 59 and Sachi was born in 55 i belive. And also, Do you think that Sachi would be able to go through what Linda Blair went through? like being violently thrashed around (like during the “Fuck me” part of The Exorcist)

lol, do you even know what Sachi looked like as a child/teen? Yeah, she also had beautiful round cheeks, little button nose and gorgeous reddish, blonde hair. Just like my sim version of her does.

Linda was 13 when shooting began in August 14th 1972 which means Sachi was still 15 going on 16… she could pass for 12 considering how slender how body was.

I will admit, she is incredibly cute 🙂 and would have been good playing the sweet innocent little child that Regan MacNeil truly is 🙂

 

But the ONE thing im still unsure of is Sachi being the demonic Regan, granted some of the intense scenes would have been done by Eileen Dietz.

But would a sweet, redheaded child really be associated with masturbating with a crucifx and spitting vomit and cursing out the priests? just seems so unreal that she will do it…..

Sachi is just as talented as her mother is! 😉 She has been acting since she was a child…

I'm not sure I understand what you mean here… Blatty based Regan of the novel on Sachi, a sweet redheaded girl, and after all these years Sachi is still associated with The Exorcist.

As far as casting unknowns, you completely read my mind. 🙂

As far as Charlize Theron and Chloe Moretz, I'm thinking more of acting gravitas as opposed to good looks (at least, in Charlize's case) :)  And I think Charlize kinda shed any “sex symbol” notions with her portrayal in the movie “Monster” where she was anything BUT a sex symbol. 🙂

 

I think Chloe Moretz would be good as Regan because she's already shown that she can pull of the edgy roles quite well for so young an age.  (Just watch Kick Ass, and you'll see what I mean.)  🙂

You're right, she was anything but a sex symbol in that movie! I collect her movies and adore her but I really can't see her as Chris… maybe if she dyed her hair reddish blonde and put on freckles on her face she could pass more for Shirley. I get really touchy over this Chris & Regan MacNeil subject, they're Shirley and Sachi MacLaine to me and I feel very strongly about it 😉 therefore my wanting actresses who look like them to play Chris & Regan.         

 

I haven't seen Chloe in that movie yet, I want to! She was adorable in that Amityville remake but how old is she now, about 14? She looks so mature looking to be Regan! Do you know that little girl who played Jodie Foster's daughter in Flightplan? I think she'd be a better choice.
