Mike’s photo (captured from Fangoria) brings about an old topic of the non-bloody versus the bloody versions of the spiderwalk scene. Yes, it can be filmed both ways. However, I can’t put the article together to indicate that a bloody version was ever filmed. Even Mark Kermode’s post on here is very illusive and coy about a bloody version being filmed.
I’m still under the impression that the blood was CGI’d in TVYNS. Why? Well, would it make sense for Friedkin to forget that Blair should have a bloody face after the stair descent? In fact, the blood would be running from her mouth to her forehead and then drip down her chin. Look at Fangoria #197 (2000) / 1st Photo in 2nd Row / Blair’s Serpent Tongue here.
No blood. Am I missing something in this article. I hope so!
This, of course, is still a wonderful myth. But, it would be nice to see a real behind-the-scene’s photo of the bloody version being filmed. 🙂
