ParticipantThank You Regan, that would be so cool of you to do that. I am glad you knew exactly the moment i speak of in the movie . Cant wait to hear or find out exactly what those whispers are saying.

ParticipantMy two cents … I belive in my humble opinion that the crew should be played my unknown actors and maybe with one or two acomplished actors.I say this because i read or saw in one of the articles about the Exorcist back in the day, that one of the actors that was going to play FR.Karras was the great actor Jack Nickolson. In the end they picked Jason Miller because they wanted the attention on the movie and so much on any particular actor. So that to me makes sence… let the movie speak for it self and not the actors.UHMMM What a concept. The theme and message of the movie is scary enough that an unknown crew of talented new actors can make the film work. I also know that this impposible since now in this day in age is all about the bottom line and that would not fly in todays Hollywood.

ParticipantI just asked my self that very same question the other day. I just read the book as I worked the night shift as x ray tech in a creepy old hospital. Then i deceided to buy and watch the movie and that questioned of why the mom did not call her Rags as she did in the book. But good point Paul Landcaster never thought about it like that .

ParticipantI must say that both are great in their own way.I saw the movie first and it made a great impression in my life as it did to many out there.I saw the movie when i was like 12 or 13 years old so reading the book was like the furthest thing that i wanted to do.I had enough scare by just watching the film. Not till about a month ago i read the book by accident.I went in to a thrift book store to look for a book to read and BAM!!! There it was, THE EXORCIST ,I felt a tingle on the back of my neck as i recalled the night mares the movie had brought me as a child. Remembering the peircing yellow eyes as Regan feels or sees FR. Merrin stepping out of the cab and walking toward the house and stopping to look up towars the second floor window. That bright shinning light beaming down on him as like he was the center of attention at that very moment.Man, that just brings momories of fear and not to mention sleppless nights.
So,having read the book i must say that it was like seeing the movie again but with extra footage. So my take is that both are great .madaztec2
ParticipantI hope for the sake of all the fans of this wickedly scary movie that Hollywood does not make the mistake of trying to capture lighting in a bottle. I, for one think that the movie works because there wasn’t all this CGI crap that goes on in movies now a days.I point out the attempt that Hollywood has done to remake horror movies like Halloween and at the end of the day they failed to capture the essence of the original movie. I know that Hollywood could care less of my feelings since movie making is all about the all mighty dollar. So as a fan of this classic horror film i cringe on the idea that Hollywood could even think on a remake. Sorry guys, just throwing in my 2 cents.
