    She did call him in the novel but he didn’t make any effort to go. They were divorced but in the movie it seems they’re just separated.

    Well, my favorite movie is The Exorcist, but I love the novel more. You’re missing a huge part of the story if you just go by the movie. So I really don’t think it’s fair to say that the movie surpasses it’s amazing literary source.

    What?? You’re obviously in the minority. Most people say the novel is superior. I don’t understand how can some on this forum prefer the movie over the novel. Well, of course you’re entitled to your opinion..

    Ellen also calls her Rags in the “tuck into bed” scene, when she says she loves her. But in the novel, Chris calls her Rags all the time.

    They should cast relative unknowns in order to add to the film’s realism.

    Do you mean Dalai Lama? Chris saw a buddhist monk levitate. I loved the conversation about Mormons but it’s not Shirley’s belief according to her books.
    Well, I can’t wait to read Chapter 6. 🙂
