Well I just orderd the 2 disc Dominion dvd, I’ll make sure the fan cut will come with the bonus disc as extras.
Well the dream will start out as if it’s just a normal scene, then it turns into twilight zone stuff, then he finds himself in the middle of hell,then he wakes up in a panic, it’s a scene I did a while back in advance, I would love to not have to slice and dice footage but theres no way to make things logicly, plus in this dream he finds then looses teh small Pazuzu Head.
So in the orignal film when He digs it up in Iraq, He remembers it from This Nightmare he has, The Nightmare is A Sign that he dosn’t want to aknowlage, and when He finds Pazuzu In Iraq He knows it meens something, he can’t run from it. he must face it.
So That aspect of the dream can be a premanition that is fufilled in the original.Im Going to post a screen shot, I reworked this for the nightmare, it is a spoiler, but it’s an example of how twisted the nightmare is.

my mom look at it and ask about it, but my logic is this, yes this is a Prequel to the exorcist, but it’s also a very differn’t film, but still a cpmpanion piece, This is supposed to be a more psychological film, This shot is for the audiance, it’s symbolic, I also have something similar when father Francis sees bloodstaines in the cave, He now hears the faint screams of people, it’s in his mind, assuming that people had been scrificed there, and the sound is like a ghost of something long passed, but is there to re-inforce the very dark and ugly history of what happend there. even though it’s a finishd shot that dosn’t mean it will makw the cut, I constantly have to set down and watch the changes before I make the final decision, you never know.
but I think the thing that will bother people the most is The nightmare sequence being placed rite after Granvile shoots the Natile Lady, The nightmare is made up of ETB Footage, showing the Natives and the British soldiers killing eachother, This is a forshadowing sowing Merrin what could happen if he dosn’t interveen.Thanks, I did try to get it to match up as close as I could, but Im not using any cgi, Im using old fashion techniques with modern tools, basicly im just using the regular paint program that is on windows, along with a photo editor and a $50 video editing program.
Ive redone this shot more than twenty times, but ultimately this one was the most effective, originaly I was using pics of CH and placing it over the face, but things never lined up very well, finally I Took a frame from this shot, I re-colord chche’s face, and made every thing else black till there was only the face, then I used the picture as an “Alpha Matte”.
And I have to say all the others I did was over the top, this is the most subtile.
But this is the finished shot, Ive still got the rest of the Movie to worry aboutI have used the ETB Battle in a nightmare sequence for the DOMINION Fan Cut.
But I reworked most of the shots to create something totaly diffrn’t, Merrin has a Dream early in Dominion, The Nightmare comes much later when things are sarting to get really shity between the natives and the british soldiers, Basicly this scene is showing Merrin what could happen if he dosn’t fight the Devil.
I know it’s taking along time to re-edit the movie, but it’s not easy, Ive hade to redo several things again and again because I want the picture quality as good as I can get it. I may post a few screenshots of the scene, but they would be spoilers, so I give a fair warning.I remember hearing about an Exorcist Tv remake/mini-series to be directed by Blatty, but that was before TVYNS came out, I would halfway be interested in seeing it, but only if Blatty directed it or had full creative controll over it, My only casting preferences would be Max Von Sydow(again) Or Stellan Skarsgard as Merrin, but thats just wishful thinking.
Re-editing this Movie is taking Longer than planned,Editing is Not easy, so many things Ive done on this have turned out beeing tests, It’s very time consuming.
When I saw a Few differn’t fan cuts from The Highlander website, I was very horrified with them, No disrespect to the people that made them, their ideas were good, but The edits themselves were very sloppy, The picture and sound quality was constantly changeing, and some one minute the picture would look just fine, then there would be giant pixels allover the place, and I had paid money for that garbage.
Im not seeking a profit, my hope is to send atleast the disc itself to anybody who wants one, Because not every body has the money to buy one or would want to actually buy, so it would be on me.
But as far as finishing it, as I said it’s not easy, because i don’t want to just slapp together some garbage and say here it is!
I want the sound and picture to look as good and consistant as possible, I want the changes to be unnoticable to someone who hasn’t seen Dominion, Im not worried about special features, I just want to finnish this and do a good job, There is no way I would give this to people unless I was satisfied with the results.
with that said, Ive made the mistake of working on differn’t parts of the movie at one time, Now I need to do it one scene at a Time and put it together in sections, thangs would be much smoother and less chaotic that way. Im not going to set a specific release period, because then Id be working under to much pressure and every thing would be all over the place, I re did the opening several times, then I hade abot 45 minutes worth of it saved on a disc and the disc got broke, I was rushing around.
So Now Im just gonna work on one part of the movie at a Time, yesterday I finisfed 8 minutes that I was happy with, that leaves the rest, if I work on it this new way I could probaly have about 20 minutes a week done.
Hope people understand.Well I have to redo the first 48 minutes, because the disc it was saved on had an accident, now ive got to redo that, but shouldn’t take as long this time, since I already know what the changes are.
I had hoped to have this ready by July 18th, It will probably take a week or 2 longer, but you never know
