I havent actually set down to watch the whole movie yet, but I did flip through it and looked at the special features.

The New stuff is great to have, but not really extravagant, but definatly worth it.

What Ive seen of the Movie, looks and sounds fantastic,  the coloring through the movie is an improvement, however, in the Exorcism scene, the Tint of Blue seems to be changeing through differn't shots, nothing that takes away from the enjoyment of the film, but definetly something that should have been handeld a bit better.

In the first movie, it’s a child possessed, and doing obscene things, what works with a child wont necessarily work with an adult.

The Demon is using a different approach, it doesn’t have to use the same old tricks.

Incidentally, I just got an HDTV as well as a Blu Ray player, and I did indeed watch the exorcist, I noticed many sounds I had never herd when playing on SD equipment.

I never have noticed the Merry Christmas, however I have always noticed in that in that first Georgetown shot, part of the House is noticeably missing.

The time of year is something that makes me giggle, at least when I watch Exorcist 3, Georgetown looks considerably “Greener” and less cold, yet the Movie starts on the Anniversary of the Exorcism, in the Exorcist it looked much colder, and dead leaves all over the place.

in addition, when Damien’s headstone is shown, the date of death is Oct 9th, however in the Exorcist it seems he died a while after that Date.

Hey Max is Alive, get him back, He does not need the Makeup now.

My only worry would be him haveing a “Real” heart attack

either way, it would be nice to give Merrin a Few Flash backs, and see What Blatty and Friedkin's interpretation of the African Exorcism would be.

    Captain Howdy said:

I've always felt that good triumphed the moment Karras leapt out that window. I've never understood the continued changes and debate over 'improving' the ending. I hope whatever Blatty has written for the miniseries isn't to… obvious. Because that leap out the window is dramatic and poignant.

Truely a “A Leap of Faith” if I ever saw one, it's shameful when people don't realise thats what it was.

It would be unwise of Either Bill to change that.

Well this certainly intrigues me, a decade or so ago I had herd about Blatty doing a mini-series.

But Friedken returning actually suprises me to an extent.

This Project have some Merrit in his eyes, or he's gone senile( like he was ever sane).

But indeed this the only way Ive ever wanted a remake, only if Blatty were doing it himself, But Fridken is a bonus.

Ive always thought the Miniseries form was a wonderful idea, if done by Blatty of course,  a miniseries is obviously a more perfect way of presenting the story rather than a 2 hour movie.

I wonder who they have in mind for Merrin.

To begin with, I don’t Own an HD TV so I obviously don’t have a Blu Ray Player, and don’t expect to anytime soon.

But This Subject does mean something to me because I may one day have that format.

The Exorcist has had a huge impact on My life, both Artistically and Personally, and that’s just The Original Film, that’s not counting Legion or Dominion.

so My feelings are very mixed, I like certain aspects of TVYNS and others I don’t, I don’t care much for the tacked on Shot before the Iraq sequence.
most of the new Images in the film get on my nerves, I don’t mind a few additions, but not as many as there are, it may work in some films, but not this particular film.
at the moment the only extra howdy Face that I like is When Regan sees it in the Doctor’s office, I feel it is a bit more legitimate, and in general I’m glad that some of that footage is there, because in the original version she became sick and possessed a bit too abruptly, her mother says that she’s been sick, but before that there is no mention.
The parts from the Doctor’s office I would have left out would be Regan falling all over the place, that footage just doesn’t work.

The Spider walk came as a surprise to me, not that it was put back in, but because how different it was, I have mixed feelings on it.

there is music added in places where it’s not really needed, But I’m not going to bitch about that or the recoloring of scenes.

in addition to the Doctor’s office, I’m grateful for the additional Merrin footage, especially the short conversation between he and Damien on the Stairs, it sums up so much.

the new ending is something I’ve never entirely gotten used to, the original version with Dyer at the top of the Steps worked for me, However the addition of Kinderman at the End helps make a much Stronger connection to
    The Exorcist III.

there are alot of things I’d like to say about this subject, however at this Time I can’t really say much.
I will say that this is an Epic pain in the ass battle;)

Just got done watching This DVD, Very good Documentary, very insightful, some nice behind the Scenes Footage.

I can’t say ‘Oh yes I recommend this to everyone’

obviously if a person didn’t care for the Schrader film, then it’s not likely they will care for this.

However if You did like the Schrader Film, or are interested in the the situation involving Schrader getting fired, this film getting trashed and remade, then ultimately being completed(only a few bucks from MC) and finally seeing the light of a Projector,

Then Yes indeed I do Highly Recommend it.
