my mom look at it and ask about it, but my logic is this, yes this is a Prequel to the exorcist, but it’s also a very differn’t film, but still a cpmpanion piece, This is supposed to be a more psychological film, This shot is for the audiance, it’s symbolic, I also have something similar when father Francis sees bloodstaines in the cave, He now hears the faint screams of people, it’s in his mind, assuming that people had been scrificed there, and the sound is like a ghost of something long passed, but is there to re-inforce the very dark and ugly history of what happend there. even though it’s a finishd shot that dosn’t mean it will makw the cut, I constantly have to set down and watch the changes before I make the final decision, you never know.
but I think the thing that will bother people the most is The nightmare sequence being placed rite after Granvile shoots the Natile Lady, The nightmare is made up of ETB Footage, showing the Natives and the British soldiers killing eachother, This is a forshadowing sowing Merrin what could happen if he dosn’t interveen.
