back before Dominion had come out on dvd, I had re-edited the African flashbacks from Exorcist 2, and made it into a prologue for the original Exorcist, and ended with ta view of moving away frome the mountain church and, hearing The Demon scream Merrin’s name, then the Screen goes black, and we have the opening credits of the Exorcist(73 cut) Rite before the Iraq Sequence, The prologue opens with the 1960 subtitle, setting it quite sometime after Either prequel, so that It would be more beleavable that Merrin Looked differn’t(Max Von Sydow being much thinner than Stellan Skarsgard)being thinner and deeper voice.
and st 13 years befor the Georgetown events, Not 10 or 12, but I figured 13 was Exceptable, After all The priest that recomended Merrin wasn’t exactly sure.
I had only attached it to about 20 minutes of the Movie, but I thought it worked out pretty well.If one of the prequels had been a huge $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$Maker, maybe they would have done another one with Merrin in Ethiopia in the early 60’s to See investagate Stories of a Young boy with Healing powers, Then Discovers yet another Church Only this Time in the Mountains, The Boy Becomes posessed when warding of a swarm of Locusts from his village, Merrin Spends Nearly a Month Trying to perform Exorcisms, but constantly being over powerd by the the clever but twisted words Of the Demon who calls himself pazuzu, When Merrin takes his breaks the Demon tells him bedtime stories about the war in Heaven, and trys to twist Lies with the truth to attack him, Then Merrin trys another Exorcism an has a heart attack while doing so, The Demon tells Merrin that he may have saved the Che-che but he won’t save this boy.
For days, Merrin Lies in a Hut in pain and dwelling on the words of the Demon.
Merrin then pulls himself together and summons all the faith and energy he can, He walks out of the hut then leads a group of Natives up into the Mountain church with the Boy, There is a casualty while climbing the mountain, Then Merrin Begins what May be his last Exorcism ever, but Succseeds and the Demon Departs into the air Screaming Merrins name, Merrin Thinks it’s over but little does he know that a decade later He Will uncover Symbol of Evil in Iraq, And He will Finally understand what his mission is, then he will leave Iraq to wait for the Day when he will begin an Exorcism and most likely will not live through it, and he excepts his fate And is willing to give his life for this cause.My very cheap attempt to age Stellan Skarsgard
I had Done that rite after The Beginning came out, I was try to do similer Something I saw Done In Early Artwork for One of the Star Wars prequels
I wish they would stop putting out the same old S**T, they need to give us something much better to look forward to,
the first 3 need to have a nice remastering job done, I don’t think there gonna go through the trouble of re-dubbing the Demon’s voice in the Heretic, but they could atleast do better picture and sound, and maybe a Comentary(See how Boorman reflects on the movie. Exorcist 3 needs to have at least the subtitle legion put in it, even if its not the original version, the Beginning should only be included if its the unrated version thats on vcd in Asia(anybody seen it?) And Dominion needs too have its special FX finished, some better picture and sound(I see pop marks and scratches) Needs a bonus disc, And even if they don’t polish this movie up, they need to at least take “PREQUEL TO THE EXORCIST” out of the damn opening title(Looks Horrid)
I doubt these things will be done, I know Im takeing along time with my re-edit of Dominion, but im not a maijor studio, I don’t have top of the line software and equipment, But at least Im takeing my time to perfect things, Im not rushing through it, I know there will be those people who don’t like my cut or think it’s unnecessary, But at least Im giveing it more Love and attention.
It’s pathetic when the studio neglects their own film, just because it wasn’t “Scary Enough”hey thunderscripts, I might could get you a free copy of the 25th anniversary version, if interested, contact me.

The Heretic definetly is not one of my favorite scenes, but ive always liked the african flashbacks, and the Church in that movie, When I first saw pics from the prequel a couple years ago, I saw the picture of Merrin and Francis in the Church, and at the Timwe I thought it was the same place, but obviously it turned out being something differn’t
You have a very good point granville, I wonderd abor that, but never the less it’s there! and there were many shots in the trailer for the Heretic that were never inthe movie, a real quick shot of the church crumbleing apart, a flash of A Reagan type Demone but with a distorted face, Im sure there were many things that never made it into the movie, I’ll post some shots.
As far as The Heretic is concerned Maybe Boorman was drunk!
as for Legion, If there is not a petition to Get The Orignal Version Released, There needs to be, Ive herd befor that The Footage is in bad shape or no longer Exisits, I Don’t buy that.It would be kinda nice if WB or Someone else would, recut The Exorcist, but only inserting the scenes from TVYNS
that are actually relavent to the story, Most of the clinical stuff, the Additional Merrin stuff etc, The ending with Kinderman and Dyer.
Basicly TVYNS without alo the extra flashe images and sounds, keeping CH flash from The clinic.
Taking away the opening showing the house before the credits, keeping maybe 1 0r 2 howdy flashes but nothing in your face.??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Thanks, but I must admit the use of red in the teaser won’t be in the fan cut, but I felt the Movie deserved a Teaser that spells out that this is the true prequel to the Exorcist.
I looked on Ebay UK, It was called Dominion:Prequel to the exorcist 2X dvd,
or something along thoes lines, I paid about $36 for it(Ilive in Oklahoma) I don’t have a region free player at the moment, but I can make a re-encoded copy, so I went ahead and got it, plus Aside from the bonus disc, I also really like the artwork, having more detail to it.
