I decided to do a differn’t Nightmare scene for Merrin, the other was abandond for being to ambitious and not really fitting very well with the rest of the movie.
My new version is The Dutch Village like Harlin’s, but Hopefuly differn’t, its made up of footage from both prequels, and it’s a rough version of the scene at the moment, Im also working on adding the Maggot Baby Cremation into the movie.

I really do agree with this, I wanted either version , but mainly this one to have so much more, More talk between Merrin and the Demon, and far More o the Exorcism.

But as is, The Way I except how it plays Out is That During The Exorcism, so Much More is going on than whats just in the Cave, Merrin Knew what The very Probable outcome Of the Tension between the Solidiers and Natives Would Be If He Didin’t do it the Way he did.
And Ive always Felt That The Demon was Overcome by the fact That He did Not Expect Merrin To Hold on to his Beliefs and Not Give in When Tempted, The Demon Himself was not fully Prepaird For Merrin.
To Me this adds More to the Events in the Original, More to The Motives and Methods of the Demon.

It was back in 97 that I first herd talk of a prequel, the first 2 names I herd of in Connection with the Merrin Character was Liam Neeson and Sam Neil,
But I imediatly wanted Neeson, and for Years thats who I expected, of course I also expected it would be about the African flashbacks from Exorcist 2.

But I Have no problem with watching Skarsgard then Von Sydow, it Feels Natural, I do feel that in the end Skarsgard was Destind to be Merrin.

During the brief Period when Schrader was fired, And People didn’t know what was going to happen, I Started to think about Peter(ROBOCOP)Weller, for Merrin if Skarsgard Drops out.

I Really wish That Morgan Creeck would realise the Potential of DOMINION if it was a completed film.
It really Needs a Special Edition, Not like star wars, but like STAR TREK:THE MOTION PICTURE DIRECTOR’S EDITION.
and HIGHLANDER 2: THE RENEGADE VERSION(still a bad Movie).

I enjoyed reading this, it’s Nice to hear Someonelse’s More Deeper and Complex views On this Movuie and this subject.

I admit I felt that Dominion Should have given in More Scares.
If It had been Making the decisions, I would Made some Compromises with Schrader, not fire him, I would Have tried to Up certain elements without destroying any thing he filmed.
Basicly Reshoot a few differn’t interpritation’s on a few scenes, Some additional Shots, perhaps a couple small scens, and Some additional footage of the Demon transforming into the Captain Howdy creature, runnig around Like a spider, and Thrashing Merrin around, before He succumbs to the Power of the Exorcism, then cut to him getting weaker and weaker in the film.

Boorman has done some Good work, But by watching EXORCIST 2 you wouldn’t expect it, and My first impression was “Was He Drunk? What was He Smoking? what was He Snorting?

I just did this As a Joke, Id have to have good Quality Stuff to Work with.
I realy wouldn’t want to touch the Movie unless it was to Correct certain things, Like Contradictory dialouge and such, Change the year to 1988 insted of 1990, fix Damian’s headstone, Replace 1975 with 1973, Cut out some of the shit about Kinderman and Karras being best friends. fix the Opening Title to read “WILLIAM PETER BLATTY’S THE EXORCIST 3:LEGION” as it had been advertised, Id Simply Put “WILLIAM PETER BLATTY’S LEGION” but that would be to complex.

Damn!
